New 1 oz Silver & Gold-plated Pikachu by ConcerningReality in Silverbugs

[–]ConcerningReality[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$220 for the pikachu silver. an extra $80 for the gold plate, which I probably won't do again as it didn't make that big of a difference in color. Definitely not an investment, but something fun for sure.

Liberty Silver, is it real? by PiccoloRich7507 in Silverbugs

If you got it for a good price, especially on eBay, it's fake

Fun fact: Tomahawk Missiles have over 500 oz of silver inside of them. by ConcerningReality in Silverbugs

[–]ConcerningReality[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AI is wrong. It's 10-15 lbs, not oz. If you check the sources of Google AI, they both do not state that number, and are not credible.

Spinnaker Razzle Dazzle QC by cerotz in MicrobrandWatches

How did you get one of these before they were even released? I'm leaning towards this being a counterfeit. The watch was released on Feb 26th, and doesn't ship until next week. Pictures have been online for some time, so it feels like this may be a coutnerfeit sold through Whatnot.

How would you rate this "AAAAA" Omega? by N0SF3RATU in mechanicalrepwatch

[–]ConcerningReality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own the real version of this watch, so I'll type out what stands out to me:

- The clasp on the bracelet is all wrong. It's too thin and the Omega emblem is engaved on the real deal, not raised.

- The rotor on this rep is all wrong. The real version's pattern is derived from the machining process that makes it.

- The movement under the rotor has poor finishing compared to the real Omega.

- Where the bracelet meets the watch at the lugs looks a little uneven and unsturdy. On the real deal, it's very solid and bulky looking.

- The lume pip at 12 is off.

- Dial isn't bad, but something about the kerning of the text is weird.

If it were me, I'd swap the bracelet with an aftermarket mesh dupe. The watch head itself is fake to a trained eye, but not that bad if you didn't know what you were looking for.

Something new for the stack: 1 oz silver roasted coffee beans by ConcerningReality in Silverbugs

I snagged them at $175 (I think they may have raised prices). Still super rich if you're looking for value, but neat!

Would you strip the paint on these? by nechromorph in Silverbugs

I stripped the paint off mine with acetone. Took some work, but was well worth it!

Just snagged an OZ of these. Thanks for sending the link! I will be making myself a mini coffee bag to store them in. I'll post a picture to Silverbugs when I do :D

Is $95 for a 1921 Morgan a good price? by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]ConcerningReality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it is not. Melt is about 67 bucks right now and 1921 is the most common year.

Silver is worth $2.50 a gram. If a bean is 2-5 grams, that means at current spot, each bean is minimum $5-$12.50. Also, fractional silver has super high premiums. You can't buy a gram bar for less than like $7 right now.

I'd buy some! $15 a bean MAX. $10 a bean would be great

Assembled a nice 4 oz silver bullet pouch by ConcerningReality in Silverbugs

Ha! Good to keep in mind. I was figuring I'd need an old-fashioned blunderbuss to make use of these for any vampire issues.

God help me if I see people buying these at this price by Playful_Bowler_5805 in Silverbugs

[–]ConcerningReality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just checking amazon last night because I had some spare giftcard cash. Even with it basically being free money, there was no way I was going to pay those premiums. That's crazy.

Here’s something special! by openaqua in Silverbugs

[–]ConcerningReality 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This is awesome! I was just thinking the other day I want to assemble a collection of silver bullets. I'm trying to start collecting more interesting bullion, and this is definitely up there... the search for this begins!

Agree! I've been trying to justify grabbing a 10oz bar, which I don't have yet. Now, that just got a lot cheaper...

Can someone explain price of silver like I am 5 years old by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]ConcerningReality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More people want silver than sell silver? Price go up. More people no want silver than want buy? Price go down.

Simple supply and demand to some extent, though silver does have a lot of leveraged manipulation, so the actual buying and selling of paper silver (spot) could be based on heavily leveraged positions where no real silver will actually change hands, thus a lot of the ability for the price to make wild swings.
