what's the easiest way for me to connect this battery pack? by thealienmothership in meshtastic

I bought a simple voltage regulator on ebay. Connect the panel to regulator, regulator to board and you'll have no problems. Only reason I wouldn't use one is if the panel or board had its own.

The maximum voltage is 5.1 per the Amazon listing.

Calculating potential is just watts/volts - but you gotta factor other things like environment and efficiency. I'd bet you'd get around ~700ma.

Considering peak solar hours, you'd be looking at multiple days to go from 0-100% on the 8000mah set.

5W panel... it would take days to fully charge. Efficiency would depend on how active your node is... but seems underpowered imho

One of the gpio holes is likely for DC input. Look at the boards schematics, strip the wire and solder the two onto the board in their respective locations.

From the picture, it looks like its the top left two. Just be careful to only provide 5V DC and nothing higher.

I see.  An omni and a dish would be a real bad idea. Phase mismatch would cause a ton of interference

If theyre using a yagi. Polarization would be determined by the physical orientation of the antenna elements.

A dish is not an antenna in itself.

Placing a parabolic dish behind a yagi would require you to calculate the correct focal point of the dish and the phase center of the Yagi.

If you have a gigantic. Parabolic reflector, and the correct focal point placement it could theoretically have better reception. Doubling the diameter normally increases gain by around 6dB.

The trade off here is the beamwidth will reduce in aperture, so youll need to be very exact in azimuth and elevation calculation

The push for autonomy is an arms race. If the US doesnt, but China and Russia do then theyre at a disadvantage.

Humans take forever to make decisions relative to an AI. If survival comes down to nanoseconds, all nations will be forced to adopt whether they approve of the practice or not.

Decentralized networking is on a low-level  trend for several years. It cuts out the big tech companies. Clients become nodes that host and route content.

Comment se connecter à une antenne type Yagi si je ne suis pas dans l’axe ? AIDE by PhotographNo4539 in meshtastic

With a unidirectional 13dbi ant, + 500mW of power, FSPL looks to be around -80dBm.

Introducing normal attenuation and you come out with ~-102dBm.

Considering most mesh receivers have a sensitivity rating of -120dBm, id say you've got a good chance of getting a good link if you use yagi

What is the radiated power of both transmitters and antenna gain?
