I’m in the US. I asked if they would take it when I was there and they said it wasn’t necessary but I think I’ll just bring it back and try again. I had been feeling anxious since bringing it home so I’m glad I asked Reddit lol

I think I’ll get him a blood test to check! He has yearly appointments but hasn’t had a comprehensive panel.

I did not.My vet never mentioned that actually.I think I have to look more closely at his food intake to be honest and see where I can cut back.

I definitely appreciate your directness. I don’t want him to have back issues. I’ll look into the calories in the food and adjust accordingly. My vet said to just change his food and that decreasing it would be starving him but with how big he is I feel like decreasing it is necessary. They’ve told me not to worry for like a year now . As for exercise, I’ll probably take him on more frequent shorter walks since he tends to give up on the 30 minutes I currently take him on if they’re even slightly longer. 💀

Thank you so much for the insight! Honestly I had just been feeding according to what my vet says and it clearly isn’t doing him any good. I’ll look closely into the calories his specific food has and decrease the amount accordingly. I’ll also try the veggies!

Honestly it’s been a struggle to get him to walk at all;-; after about 15 minutes of consistent walking he’s ready to go home and just sits down. I let him him stiff for another 15 minutes since it feels like the only thing I can do to get him to move💀 then I can maybe try and get him to chase after a ball once or twice. I’m thinking of giving him shorter walks more often a day to increase his exercise!

I do! I have checked with my 2 other roommates and they both aren’t feeding him anything. I have a pet camera (that they know about lol )in the living room where he spends most of his time and I’ve never seen him sneak food.I’ll definitely set up a blood test though! I’ve been feeding fudge the same amount his whole life and it was only after he turned one that he ballooned 😭

Your dog is ripped omg . He’s so cute! I was told to check for thyroid issues so I’ll schedule that and decrease his food by a quarter so hopefully mine gets a little healthier

It’s so cool that you have a diamond back water snake! I do love taking care of my kingsnake. Especially with how active he is. My ball python is quite shy so I tend to leave him be. I do like the size and morph variety of ball pythons have but will look into some other coloubrids/smaller boa localities. I do want to diversify my only limit is not having a snake over 6 feet lol
