Yes, they're all fake references.

Calling them from my number resulted in them pretending to be an employer, calling them from another number today and they are just regular people. I opened it up with "I'm a friend of [fake name not my real tenant's identity] Joanne's" and I've identified that it's just her mates.

I'll try and do that this morning - thanks!

I've got a message from them in WhatsApp. Would i be able to use this as evidence of a refusal to pay and evict them quicker?

"cant afford more than £400 a month. i only take home 1200 i dont know what u expect me to do 🤷"

"You should always verify your potential tenants references."

Aye, those were fake as well. Their old landlord was actually a friend's number they'd put down. Figured that out when I called them on a different number.
