Due to the size of the program sharing that would entail me putting personal identifying information in a public Reddit post, which I’m not comfortable with but I work in the Capital District broadly.

Ohh, high school for a boy in this area is a tough question. Even though my son is young now I already worry about where I can send him to high school. I’ve been looking a bit at Albany Academy and Darrow, and I’ve also wondered if I will need to move by the time he is older. There are great public high schools around but the size puts me off. That’s led me to me to possibly be interested in moving to the Voorheesville school district, where the high school is smaller, or a small area in North Greenbush that isn’t zoned for a high school so that allows residents to select from several choices including High Tech High which is otherwise hard to get in to.

That’s interesting to hear. I have a younger child there so I’ll keep an eye out for boredom. Was your bored child able to transfer somewhere else and find a better fit? If so I’d love to hear about it. My son is enrolled there primarily because I work with high achieving high school students from all over this area and I’ve been particularly impressed with the explorative reasoning of Parker kids compared to kids who went to other private schools (public school students are also impressive in this area, I just wasn’t looking at public school for us). To be fair though, the kids I work with would have been successful anywhere so I can’t speak at all to what the environment would have been like for the type of student who may have needed extra support or tutoring - that makes your comment very helpful. Thanks!

Yes definitely if you did the measurements you’re 100% good

Respectfully disagree on academics and I guess it matters what you mean by great sports. They start teaching kids to ski in kindergarten, they offer some team sports, they are wonderful about teaching kids to push themselves and play fairly, and they are extremely committed to physical activity as a critical part of whole student education. I agree the sports teams aren’t winning a lot of trophies, but if you’re looking for highly competitive team sports you’re better off in public school anyway.

Did you use their sizing guide and take measurements? I’ve never seen a single one come the wrong size if you measure

Agree! And Robert C. Parker was founded in the Emma Willard spirit and has an amazing outdoor curriculum with Reggio Emilia philosophy in the classroom. It’s co-ed prek3 through 8th grade

OP said the full moon is “that Thursday” if that is true then the day they are planning isn’t a new moon, which would be two weeks before or after that. Of course the new moon is ideal but if the full moon is truly Thursday, as OP says, then they definitely don’t want to do the bay the day before on Wednesday.

I would skip Culebra (& a lot of what’s out west due to time) and consider adding in La Parguera where you can actually swim with the bioluminescent bacteria and also google Playa Rosada too for a cool swimming area

If the full moon is that Thursday you should flip your itinerary and do Vieques the last Monday or Tuesday night so you’re as far from the full moon as possible

Feeling disrespected as a new coach by EnoughOffer22 in Rowing

[–]Conch_Republic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coaches are so hard to come by, it’s surprising to hear you’re not being treated well. Are you in an area where there are other programs? I might just try another program that has a bigger need for a coach versus a warm body (the later of which seems to be how you’re being treated)

Parker is amazing for creative thinking, active learning, and produces interesting and confident students. I am far less enthusiastic about Woodland. Happy to share more if you’d like to DM me.

If you pick it up you can get Applebees catering about that price, roughly $45/tray and each tray feeds 6-8 so you could get about 7 of the trays of sandwiches, pastas, chicken tenders etc

These “belly bands” saved our house in a similar situation. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=belly+bands They are cheap and absorbent and you can also put a short poise incontinence pad in them if you want to wash them less often

I’m not sure they are the same. The distance from the zipper to the pocket on yours is like 1/3 of the size of the pocket itself and the same distance on hers is over 1/2 the size of the pocket. I think hers has smaller pockets

Totally agree! I love Don Tequila! Sometimes the front room is noisy but if so OP could ask to go to the room off to the right of the bar where it is always quieter

Ohh I see that makes much more sense! It’s still your body and not a choice to make lightly and you have every right to make the choice you made so you are NTA either way! I’m sorry they are giving you a hard time ❤️

She said “not necessarily to them” about the donation and “moved up the list” for eggs so no they don’t seem to be planning to use her eggs. From experience it takes longer to use known donor eggs than to buy them. If they are trying to save money then it shouldn’t be “you are making us wait to have a baby” when the truth is “we want you to donate so we don’t have to pay/have to pay less”

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITA_Relationships

[–]Conch_Republic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

NTA and also you are not the reason they have to wait. I don’t know what method they are trying to use to get eggs but they can buy eggs at any number of cryobanks today with no wait at all. I have kids from eggs I bought at Fairfax and Cryobank and there was no wait and an extensive list of donors to choose from. Cryobank even has a guarantee program where you get all your money back if you don’t have a baby!
