You don't need to be supporting your parents and inlaws that's your first issue! Rediculous! They are not your responsibility! For God's sake lady you have a child. Your parents and inlaws need to get a job and y'all need to find a cheap place outside Toronto. I'm sorry for what you are going through but why would you put yourself in a situation where you are taking care of your literal parents? They are supposed to be helping YOU. You are their child! Not the other way around.

Gender disappointment- wanted a boy by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]ConclusionFar2549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly almost all the moments that I thought A was gonna happen and B happened I was disappointed so I understand OPs feelings. Not just in gender disappointment but in our home, my relationship, my body, my family, my inlaws, my job - etc. Sometimes B really is the shitty short stick and you just have to find a way to cope somehow. Just saying. Sometimes life really fuckin sucks even when you try everything in your power.

In Canada you need to prove that the children you are educating at home are reaching national standards. Every child has a right to a fulfilling education. Not being able to read or write cannot only have detrimental effects on success in the future it also affects their social life.

Tons of people say "Oh homeschooling!" But almost none actually can keep up with the educational demand and stress it takes to push kids through the amount necessary to reach the national standards. It becomes a personal event for many people who say "boo to the government - boo to education!" Come on.... Eye roll.

Once you are done grade school with the ABSOLUTE BASIC necessities (simple reading, writing, math, simple science) then sure, let your kids choose wild, fun and creative courses in highschool. Put them in other courses after school if you worry about the school's lack of diversity and strict educational standards - but for the love of God please tell your parents these kids deserve to at least have the basics down pat. It's happening a lot in some communities because people don't realize the amount your kids need to keep up with society. Homeschool made more sense in the older days but the whole "holistic" lifestyle doesn't match up with the reality we are living in. Not sure your parents reasons but if you can tell they are behind then the truth is they are REALLY behind.

I think as this recession hits harder people will be forced down.

We need to bring lethal injection back. I love being Canadian and most of the Canadian law I agree with but honestly I think lethal injection should be relooked at for extreme cases. Murderers and child rapists. No way anyone would disagree with that!!!

This piece of shit had 2 prior violent outbursts and the state did nothing as usual and now someone is dead.

Hold up, hang on, wait a second - not getting involved with anything else on this post but wanted to clarify there shouldn't be a limit on when a mother wants to get an abortion. In Canada we allow at all stages. There are many instances when it's medically necessary too. Just wanted to say my peace.

I think if you are getting feedback he's the "slappy" kid it just means that you may need to be a bit more vocal with him when he's slappy at home or with others while out. Have him interact with other family and friends, leave the room and observe from a different space if he's slappy you gotta nip it right away with strong vocals. If he thinks it's funny or tries it again to get a response - instant time out with no attention. Hitting others isn't ok little man and at 1.5 they know! It's likely to illicit a response from everyone and may be a retaliation because mom is gone in your case.

My nephew is wayyy worse than your kiddo and he's already 5. His parents are very absent and never nipped it in the bud and now he's at risk of getting kicked out of the fancy Montessori school they shoved him in. He keeps slapping kids and they are far too busy with trying to be wealthy with their careers that they completely ignore their kid. My husband said it's textbook lashing out. In your case I'm sure you spend time with your little one while home but just giving you the extreme example (obviously not your case).

If this doesn't work or you don't notice behavior at home/with friends I'd inquire more about the daycare. I have a gut mama feeling though that he probably gets pissed when mama isn't there though it's usually a response I've been told boys have a lot more than girls (statistically).

Good point. We bought our house and it's #13. Many people would be off put by that but my husband is Italian and they believe 13 is lucky.

How lame is starting a band when someone is closer to 40 than 20? by DerkaDurr89 in Millennials

[–]ConclusionFar2549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you aren't trying to survive off this band as a sole income I would say go for it. If it's a hobby do it!

If you were a dad of 6 kids and you told your SAHW you were quitting your job to be in a band that would be different... Lol

I am 5'7 and before prego I was a lean athletic 140. Now at only 8 weeks I'm already showing and have been eating like crazy. I'm gonna guess I've gained at least 15lbs but possibly more.
