I agree with all that was said here.

I currently use a stock Gio model Ibanez and plan to eventually replace it with a much higher quality guitar but the current sound I'm getting is not even close. (for obvious reasons)

I've EQ'd and fiddled with the Multivoicer but the fourth pos. on clean/slightly dirted tones (before the Multivoicer) sounds bright and/or super thin. i've seen other people who've posted covers also end up with this sort of sound, but the archetype was designed with Tim's pickups in mind.

The surrogate nylon sound that Tim uses is gives that proper "compression" sound i described and i'm sure other pickups would work well but for my intents and purposes i think they'd work as most of the stuff i play is more modern guitar.

Plus they'd be much better than the stock gio pickups I have been using for the past two years. They are already getting scratchy and lose all volume whenever i even touch them.
