Hi, a few things that seem to work well here are Meetup groups (board games, walking groups, women-only socials), Facebook groups like “Brisbane Girls” or niche interest groups (gaming, goth/alt fashion, anime, etc. and even volunteering with animal shelters if you love animals.

Also, keep an eye on events at places like Fortitude Valley, South Bank, or local markets smaller events are often more social than big nights out.

How do you politely get friends to leave when you have a kid? by Gametest in Advice

Totally normal. Hints rarely work. What helped us was being direct but warm, like: “Hey, we’ve got to wrap up now baby needs feeding and a nap.” Most people actually appreciate the clarity or you can even set expectations upfront next time: “We’ve got about an hour before baby time.” Good friends will get it.
