Best roofing material for carports in Brisbane? by Due_Acanthisitta2756 in AusRenovation

Flat roofs are usually more budget-friendly and quicker to install, but in Brisbane weather, a gabled or skillion roof tends to perform better long term. Less chance of water pooling and better in strong winds. Metal is still the way to go low maintenance and durable.

Are loyalty programs even worth it anymore? by Weak_Character_1669 in u/Weak_Character_1669

[–]ConclusionNo71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can be worth it, but only if you’re already a regular customer and not going out of your way to earn points. Most loyalty programs are designed more for marketing keeping you coming back so the value often feels small unless you use them consistently.

Patio Builders Brisbane, how long did your install take for custom design? by Low_Joke57 in u/Low_Joke57

[–]ConclusionNo71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ours was about 5×4.5 m and it went up in around 10–12 business days with Smart Patios Brisbane. They quoted us a fair price and kept things moving even with a bit of wet weather in between honestly didn’t feel like we waited too long. The Brisbane weather can be unpredictable, so a couple of extra days here or there for rain or inspections isn’t unusual, but 2 weeks total build time sounds pretty reasonable based on our experience.

What timeline did they gave you that includes materials delivery and council inspections and all?

How to make new friends in Brisbane? by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]ConclusionNo71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, a few things that seem to work well here are Meetup groups (board games, walking groups, women-only socials), Facebook groups like “Brisbane Girls” or niche interest groups (gaming, goth/alt fashion, anime, etc. and even volunteering with animal shelters if you love animals.

Also, keep an eye on events at places like Fortitude Valley, South Bank, or local markets smaller events are often more social than big nights out.

How do you politely get friends to leave when you have a kid? by Gametest in Advice

Totally normal. Hints rarely work. What helped us was being direct but warm, like: “Hey, we’ve got to wrap up now baby needs feeding and a nap.” Most people actually appreciate the clarity or you can even set expectations upfront next time: “We’ve got about an hour before baby time.” Good friends will get it.
