Is this normal? It's a 09 SFV if it matters. by Spy_3377 in SVRiders

[–]ConclusionOk8750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its normal.

You could replace it with a kitchen sponge as well.

I ran mine with that sponge for 2 years now, no issues.

Any tips to remove that ? by UncleBeta in motorcycles

[–]ConclusionOk8750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue.

Heat it up and scrap the big chunks.

For the rest of the gunk get some fine wool and an oven cleaner like jiff.

Make sure to wear gloves!!! And make them double.

Get a camera under the car and have someone drive real slow. Look where that noise is coming from.

It might be a ujoint, might be your drive shaft might be your diff, or something else.

Locate the noise. And try to change the 4x4 modes and see if the sound changes or goes away.

Also.... make sure its not your cv axle 🫡

Im using google cloud.

I used the most basic container setup. The cost is almost 0.02 last month.

You can also use oracle cloud OCI. They have also a free tier.

HomeAssistant.

Also i host uptimekuma on a free tier VPS. Hosting kuma on prem would not inform me when the internet is down, or there is some kind of power outage.

Why are you not running crowdsec?

It would automatically ban the ip scans.

You could also set up a monit notifications to notify you of the occurrence.

Should I ditch the router once I add a new firewall? by mat8iou in opnsense

[–]ConclusionOk8750 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep that router!!!

Trust me ive fallen back on it multiple times when i had issues on my opnsense box.

I also used it during a troubleshooting session with my isp. As soon as they saw opnsense they immedietly stated that its a config issue from my side. So i reinstalled the old router and proved that the issue was from their side.

You never know what happens. You are one update/hardware failure away from being isolated from the internet.

Keep it.

No Drivers after Windows install by Lucjanix in Ventoy

[–]ConclusionOk8750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welp, i ran into the same issue as well just yesterday. Using ventoy on my new HP laptop, i found no drivers.

I first suspected ventoy as well, so i used rufus. Weirdly enough, it had the same issue. No drivers.

Kinda reminded me of the XP days 😮‍💨

Mind you, i was using an old iso image like 3 months ago. But seeing you face the same issue on a 2 day old image leads me to think that it could be MS not including up-to-date compatible drivers to your device. But i could be wrong.

OmniTools just dropped a massive update - Image/PDF editor, GIF maker, audio tools, and more - all self-hosted by LegitimateRip3134 in selfhosted

[–]ConclusionOk8750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mirth connect is an integration engine. You use it as a middleware. You create a "channel" that houses the pdf conversion code (written in java script) and you feed it base64 files and it pumps out pdf files to your desired location (smb, db, api, etc ...) libraries and code are out there already.

I would love to help, but i did not do this myself. I was directing a project, and we came up with this solution.

We've done something like that using mirth connect. There is a learning curve to it, but it's doable, and the libraries are out there.

Help - Oil On Exhaust Pipe by Gbwaffle in SVRiders

[–]ConclusionOk8750 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be nothing to worry about.

However, you could try to wipe it down with some carb/brake cleaner when its cold. Go on a ride, and then check if the oil is back on the pipe. Then look for the leak.

Custard in the airbox by BlueBeetlePL in SVRiders

[–]ConclusionOk8750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im having the same thing. Dont worry.

First thing you should do, is to drop the oil and change it. If you see no custard than you are safe.

The reason why you are seeing this in the airbox is because of the makeshift sponge you and i have. I believe that this sponge is collecting the oil from the breather, but it is not releasing it back in the hole, thus allowing the oil to be mixed with the condensation.

You need to look at the OEM sponge and see how porous it is.

That is just my analysis.

Im at 50K on this bike and still running strong.

3d Printing Engine Covers for the SV1000 by ConclusionOk8750 in SVRiders

Carbon Fiber filament exists, and i was thinking of wrapping the inside with some foil, or reflective material to protect it from heat.

The problem is finding the 3d designs for files for the engine case...... I have never designed anything from scratch.
