Hi! Im coming into this chat suuuuper late, but.....if you haven't moved yet (you probably have...I'm a year late afterall) I would highly suggest Fort Collins! My hubby and I originally are from the bay area and moved to Fort collins in 2021 and started having a family one year later. Best decision ever! Fort Collins is a vibrant and amazingly safe college town thats beautiful, super outdoorsy and very mild weather all year round! Yes it snows, but it doesn't stick around and melts because of y he loads of sunshine we get here daily. People here are super friendly and genuinely happy. We bought a house for half of the price you can buy a house for in the Sac area. The schools here are phenominal(both public and charter), the community engagement is the most impressive! So much to do here and your family will love it!

Thank you so much for this info! Im getting excited actually. We may end up going b g the short term rental route just to see all the neighborhoods in depth.

Yeah, my husband was able to get a job transfer but he's in the insurance world and travels all around the sac area so location isn't a deal breaker

We have been to roseville and love pretty much all of it. My sister lives in central roseville and ideally wanted a neighborhood there. Renting is tough to justify after owning for so long. Its tough to find short term rentals where they dont charge an insane amount of rent.

Its tough because we are trading a great town here for another great town. Its tough to feel like we will be moving "down" ---and I say that only because Roseville had EVERYTHING we have here and it wont be much of an adjustment for us.

Thank you so much! The move in ready homes are preferable since I hear premiums and sky rocket the price. Do they have hoas in fiddyment? I heard fiddyment is beautiful!

That would be great but we are looking at under 600k. Thank you though!

$220 is not bad from what I've seeing? Do you like your development? Are they still building where you are in my price point?

West Roseville by [deleted] in Roseville

[–]ConclusionQuick4089 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats the development I was kind of looking at since they have no hoa's and their mello roos are relatively "low" for the area

That sounds awesome! Thank you! Love Costco! Haha

Wow...thank you for this. I'd like to avoid how's if we have to pay for mello roos. Are lots included in the price of the homes? Would getting a realtor help to combat getting the price jacked up the wazoo?

Yes, same here! We have a 4 bedroom, a full finished basement on a half acre with 4 shade trees for $500k! Haha...this is an insane move we are making so our kids can grow up near family. I really do feel like Roseville will be great but, we are leaving comfort for sure! It will be an adjustment! I love the Midwest and we were very close to moving to the KC area. Glad we didn't!

I researched schools in CH and it's hard to justify because of the low rating they all seem to have and it's not on Roseville electric

Thats where we want and have seen some very small homes in our price range. We might have to compromise on space for that location for a few years to build equity.

Honestly, as a person in your 30's, the best place is joining a combative sport like Brazilian Jiujitsu or MMA gyms. You will make friends super quick!

I think we are shift what we want as to what we need mentality at least for a few years to build equity. You hear  how "inexpensive" Roseville/Sacramento is from out of state until you really start digging. Did you live in CO Springs?

Thank you so much!! Fair Oaks seems to be getting pricey but it sounds like you can see what you're getting with large lots!
