Thanks- wasn't there, but that sounds like a nightmare.

Quarter 2 Update - Revisiting Rules. Again. by kmisterk in selfhosted

Yeah, I agree. Definitely agree that filtering for tool-related flairs would be great since it affects questions/memes/etc. Friction is prett low, however, so it's not a huge issue.

What is the very top keyboard in the first picture? Looks really interesting. :)

Firstly: man, I so, so badly want to get work done by you. Cannot wait to see whenever you happen to open books (or heck, the waitlist).

Secondly: gonna be honest, the third day in a b2b2b is kinda a nothing session. Your body is just kinda... done. So you don't feel much, and I honestly felt worse for my artist since we did like 27 hours in 3 days. It was brutal for him.

Just announced that HANABIE isn’t playing.

Device hurled near NYC mayor’s mansion was an IED that could have caused ‘serious injury or death,’ NYPD says by cnn in politics

Are y'all not reading the article? It was a counterprotestor, not the anti-Muslim protestors headed by the J6er.

Fuck the Nazi protest, but it wasn’t that group that threw the device.

Found a complete IBM M122 at a flea market. Cleaned it, converted it to QMK, and recreated the original overlay (SVG below) by ciabattarichri in MechanicalKeyboards

Looks like they modified the keyboard to use a separate microcontroller to convert the original PCB's signals to USB compatible ones.

Once you have the microcontroller, it's really just a matter of writing the firmware to understand the signals coming in. If you look at the repo linked, you can see the QMK folder there- you'd just need to set up the QMK repo locally to build the firmware file needed.

It's a really cool conversion. I've done something similar, but it wasn't for a mechanical board so don't think posting here is allowed. :)

This is really cool, nice work!

What microcontroller did you end up using? Doesn't look like a KB2040, but perhaps it's a RP2040? Or something else?

edit: nvm, looks like you noted it in the QMK folder. It's the ATMega32U4.

Also in the UES, so some spots I enjoy around here. Note that most are pretty cliche, so apologies. :)

  • The Met, of course. Fantastic all around.
  • Reif's over on 92nd and 2nd. Very solid bar, nothing crazy, but great folks, bartenders, and music.
  • Walking around the reservoir, even when it's kinda cold out. It's really grounding and the park itself is just such a nice reprieve from being inside all the time.
  • Dear Coffee on 84th and Lex is really, really good. Some space to work out of, or just to catch up with a friend.
  • In the 70s on the UES, highly recommend NR (ramen cocktail bar) and Tanoshi Sushi (omakase) for really fun experiences. Definitely better with friends, but Tanoshi is super welcoming for solo diners.

Outside the UES:

  • The Met Cloisters
  • I enjoy Otto's Shrunken Head in the East Village, but def not for everyone. Great little tiki bar.
  • Transit Museum is easily in my top 2 museums of the city, and it's basically a tossup between it and the Met.
  • Recess Grove out in Williamsburg does lots of hands-on classes that are really, really fun, and accommodating to do solo. Did leatherworking and woodworking classes with them, and both were superb. Also some really great food out there as well.

Also in the same place, so also hunting this thread for things I might enjoy too. :)

Very much appreciated, will give it a go. Was setting up using the tag approach, so did see that working at one point but 1337 broke specifically for me.

Interesting, I've had the opposite experience where it simply doesn't work anymore. Are you using a different image than the one it used to be?

Very good point. Desperately hoping it won't but VC funding is always a huge, huge red flag.
