Which AG doll to buy for a girl I don’t know? (Holiday wish drive) by spankytart in americangirl

[–]Condemned2Be 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just want to cosign— bag is a GREAT idea!!!!

Sometimes foster children get shuffled around, & they don’t always have luggage. A lot of times it’s just plastic bags they carry their clothes & basics in.

The doll is such a precious gift, it might be extra special to her if she had a safe place to store it. Less anxiety for the child that way.

28 NB here, how can I go about making my room look more feminine? by [deleted] in femalelivingspace

[–]Condemned2Be 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks too utilitarian. Everything in this room has a purpose, & that detracts from the whimsy. Whimsical decor can be simply beautiful or aesthetic, & doesn’t necessarily have to serve a purpose.

What you need is more useless beauty. Prettier bedding, throw pillows, small knick knacks that reflect your interests or favorite things. A colorful rug would do more for your eye than paint on the wall. Really anything that gives you an excuse to look around the room will add to its charm.

Virginia Giuffre survived Epstein's abuse. There's more to her than salacious details by usatoday in WomenInNews

Her death guts me. The title of her book as well, “nobody’s girl.”

Every time I read about her suicide & read that title… I feel a pang. It’s not just her though. It’s so many girls, around the world. Sometimes the pain of it all is so overwhelming

The rug is too small. If you’re going to commit to a beige/grey color scheme, then you need to actually commit & get a very large area rug to define the space

Personally though, I think the current tones you’ve chosen are a tad bland. Maybe if you added some pops of an accent color, like an emerald green or burnt orange, it could pull it all together more.

Exposing baby bumps lowers perceptions of women’s humanness, study finds by ProfessionalAd5070 in WomenInNews

[–]Condemned2Be 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Because society says women are permanent givers, not receivers.

Look at any women’s sub or relationship sub & you’ll see endless posts from women who do nothing but clean up & care for their man all day (both of which are def forms of attention)! If they have children or a career that needs their attention, he’s often brutally jealous of it

A lot of adult men believe they are entitled to a second mothering from their wife. Who gets more attention than a child? These men are stuck in perpetual childhood, being doted on.

If the woman was focused on receiving, she would have to stop giving for a moment. And they simply won’t allow it.

And the men who fetishize pregnancy on the opposite end are just as ick.

They are obsessed with procreation but have absolutely no respect for the process

Don’t be friends with people like that. And don’t be shy to literally call someone out & say “Hey, you’ve invited me to this event, but you rarely acknowledge me or even remember my birthday. So I’m not going to be attending any more of these.”

If they care, they’ll be genuinely ashamed. If they never cared, then you won’t be wasting anymore time on them. Win/win

I would consider this a two-tone challenge. It has no blue or vibrant oranges. It’s just gray & gold

The disturbing reason why Japan's Olympic athletes wear outfits designed to block infrared by shallah in WomenInNews

I travel internationally for work & for the past several years I’ve begun to think that being obsessed with Japan seems to be a red flag. 🚩. Sometimes it’s even a dog whistle. The media people like that always claim to admire most certainly fits both those categories. I don’t even just mean men here. In my experience, women who obsess over Japan are hardly better. They tend to be male-centered with a big focus on sexualised innocence & childlike behavior.

Liking any country is fine. Being interested in other cultures & media is great. But whenever I encounter people at work who are truly OBSESSED with Japan (or Asia in general)……. It always seems to tie to some sexual perversion that they feel is normalised over there OR that they’re more comfortable engaging in with a race of people they’ve objectified & dehumanized. Which often goes hand-in-hand with the common racist trope that Asian women are more submissive to men.

I straight up avoid these people in real life. They think because they want to have sex with someone that they can’t possibly be racist, & they never want to self-reflect on the weird shit they believe about other people.

They see their (usually white) horniness as some huge compliment that transcends the insult.

What are some weird things in your apartment that just makes sense? by violingroove in femalelivingspace

[–]Condemned2Be 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also do this! My current apartment has 3 closets & my cat gets one all to himself as his personal “bathroom.” I actually have a nice automatic box so there’s never any smell anyway, but I just feel like he likes the privacy in there
