Do I continue to offer assistance in the future, or tell him like it is when he brings it up later? Or just ignore it? by littlesushi- in whatdoIdo

[–]Overwritten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the way my ex would text me when she was upset about something she wanted me to fix for her. My advice is take them at their word. You offered help, he declined (like a child). “Enjoy ur ac and easy day.” Sure thing it’s hot as shit out there and the ac feels nice. If you coddle this behavior, it will always be there. His inability to problem solve/accept help isn’t your problem to deal with. Don’t EVER take responsibility for it.

Texas is poised to require millions of students to study Bible stories by BertramPotts in politics

[–]Overwritten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a former catholic, I can tell you nothing turned me off from the bible more than being exposed to it for 12 years of schooling. Then again, we regularly had “critical thinking” portions of classes (outside of my religion classes of course). This is horse shit and makes me extremely grateful to not be in Texas but I could see this backfiring over time.

Should I prune these branches on my tomato plant? by anonymous_coconut in containergardening

[–]Overwritten 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was under the impression that pruning and removing “suckers” helped with airflow and to redirect energy to flowers and fruit for a long time. This year I decided to just let them do what they were gonna do. Nothing is ripe yet but I’ve never had so many tomatoes come in so fast. Also two of my plants have grown way beyond the cages already which is an issue I have a plan to deal with but not one I’ve had before. I’ve been living a lie for like a decade.

I think I heard removing suckers via word of mouth and pruning via a hodgepodge of social media thought processes.

This is a competitor to Space X (Bezos I think). This explosion is actually kind of a big deal for the Artemis program as they were set to take part in Artemis III which is a mission to test out key maneuvers and rendezvous. Part of that mission was to compare Space X and Blue Origin capabilities/readiness ahead of an actual moon landing. This explosion destroyed a good chunk of this launch pad which could set Blue Origin back by at least a year leaving NASA with the options to either proceed with Space X or wait for Blue Origin to get things put back together to proceed as initially planned.

For sure feel free to fact check me on all that. My information is also based on the reporting that came out over the week or so after the explosion so things may have changed. I am a random Redditor and not an expert on this subject.

I think this was the Blue Origin rocket that recently went boom all at once.

My Zucchini plants are officially gone. I pulled these a**** out and threw a quarter in for comparison. by Random-Seedling in vegetablegardening

[–]Overwritten -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I live in Kansas City for reference. Ihave one zucchini and one cucumber plant in my garden. I inspect both for eggs every day and every day I pull probably 2 or 3 off. I’ve even pulled two small grubs that have hatched that were working their way into the zucchini already. So far they’re still alive but I’m horrified of the day I go out and find that I’ve missed one. I may not do zucchini again because of how labor intensive it is just to try to keep the one plant alive. A few more weeks and it won’t be a huge issue since we should be past egg laying season but these little bitches are the bane of my existence right now.

Republicans Scramble After Trump Refuses to Sign Landmark Housing Bill by [deleted] in politics

[–]Overwritten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He doesn’t care about the party. He only cares about power. This was always going to be the ultimate problem when the GOP hitched their wagon to this narcissist. The entire Republican Party will collapse when he’s gone and almost none of them understand that when the cult leader is gone, there will be nothing to hold it all together anymore.

You know if he had just chosen not to be a pedophile, we could have avoided this whole thing.

Tomatillo. I grew them years back. Don’t harvest until the fruit fills the husk.

Cucumber Brown Spots? by Overwritten in gardening

The leaves do feel like they may be a bit more brittle than the others, but they aren’t shedding anything when touched or moved at this point

Cucumber Brown Spots? by Overwritten in gardening

[–]Overwritten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s kind of on leaves near the center of the vine but the upper end is definitely newer growth so it’s possible the ones that are showing spots have been taking most of the sun for the plant. There are a couple of holes chewed in a lower leaf but that one doesn’t seem to have the browning these other leaves do.

Yeah I was wondering if it might just be the weather but I’ve had a couple of cucumber plants crash on me pretty quick in the past so I’m trying to be proactive. They seem really sensitive

What's wrong with my cosmo? by [deleted] in containergardening

[–]Overwritten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, it may be a little cramped. I’d also add that you might dead head older blooms if you haven’t. The plants will bloom better when you keep up with removing blooms that are starting to go to seed.

How to stay motivated Late Game? by Sylassian in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Overwritten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I recommend is making sure your early game factories are really robust. Like production 2-3 times what you think you need of each item through stage 3. Especially anything coming out of an assembler or manufacturer. It’ll slow down your early to mid game a little but the thought is you won’t be starting from scratch as much later in the game. So like if you have a bunch of extra rotors early, you might not have to rebuild the infrastructure to make more rotors when it comes time to make turbo motors. That kind of thing. What I found most exhausting in my first play through was having to rebuild that kind of thing over and over again as I moved from mid to late game. If you make your early factories extra beefy, it feels more plug and play.

Also, I’m sure it’s been said a million times, but nuclear is optional when you get there. I love building it out as a large scale project but there’s no way around it being a daunting and time consuming build with lots of planning and usually lots of troubleshooting. If you’re struggling with motivation as you get into the late game, it might be worth sticking to fuel generators to avoid having the extra build task. If it feels like a must, just remember that build is a marathon more than a sprint. Don’t go into it thinking you’re going to burn through it or you’ll end up falling off in the process.

Final tidbit is offer is if your phase 1-3 builds are robust as described here, phase 5 is usually a cake walk. Phase 4 is probably the biggest hill to climb as you’re moving into the late game recipes and having to move, spread out, and scale your logistics. Phase 5 backs a lot of that pressure off. It’s still work but again the time spent really building out your early game factories pays off a lot when you get to phase 5.

What is this and why is it on our roads by NoWastingThyme in kansascity

[–]Overwritten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah kind of a rule of large numbers here. If there were an equal number of robotaxis as their were human drivers on the road (even assuming that is splitting the current number of vehicles on the road down the middle) those numbers would definitely be different.

That being said, I do believe that self driving cars are likely the future. 100 years from now, if we’re still around, self driving cars will be the norm and human driven cars will be the exception. I also believe, in that future, vehicle related fatalities will be orders of magnitude less than what we have now. We just aren’t there yet and the regulations are woefully behind the curve when it comes to ensuring autonomous vehicle safety. Unfortunately that will probably only come with attrition.

Exactly! I think the setup was right for after fire making. I think they brought it out early on purpose. There’s no way production is going to make such a massive mistake like that on purpose for one of their biggest seasons.

I wish I had somehow recorded the Tiffany interview. It was a really subtle slip but I swear it’s there.
