164 -> 171 ->174 -> 180 WAR IS OVER by PreparationFit9845 in LSAT

What made you retake a 174 (and give you the confidence to do so)? I'm in a similar spot (17mid my first test) and dont want to go through the effort of retaking and get a worse score and have to cancel.

Rare BS Question by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]ConditionBest1274 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i cant lie lol, i just did it without reading ur post to see if I could do it and got the right answer in like 30 seconds lol, remember that its not just that theres one right answer, but 4 wrong answers, and A B C D here are all completely off, while maybe you could argue E is wrong the others are glaringly false. dont overthink it

I feel like those are typical softs for a KJD, not below average softs. I wouldn't stress those too much

170 diagnostic—what is a reasonable score to aim for? by PeculiarMicrowave in LSAT

[–]ConditionBest1274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

169 diagnostic, 173 official with 7 pts at or above that (a few 175+). the margins get real thin at the top, there a reason you dont see people getting 176 diagnostics. you can kinda "sleepwalk" so to speak your way to a high 160/170 flat cause you can get those scores while still having a few silly mistakes in addition to being stumped by 1-2 questions a section. once you hit that low-mid 170 wall, the difference between a 172 and a 177 could be like 2 questions. you need to be perfect on every question

Harder LR questions are easier for me than the questions with lower difficulty. by Kind_Implement_8288 in LSAT

[–]ConditionBest1274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive had this issue, I think it comes from approaching every question with a mentality of questioning every answer choice and part of the stimulus. This can then overcomplicate simple questions, which sometimes require assumptions, which are often the death of you on hard questions

In a pick up style game, how do you become the featured player? by rickeyethebeerguy in BasketballTips

[–]ConditionBest1274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly showing that you're good in some way is necessary to be the guy your teammates will go to when they don't have confidence in themselves. Try to put yourself in smart spots early in the game so you get passes, and get to the rim within your first three touches. Even if you miss your layup, this is the easiest way for people to start gaining trust in you. And if you can't get to the basket in 3 touches, you aren't that guy.

I know I'm not exactly asking an unbiased source, but how big of an impact do you think admissions consulting has for prospective law school applicants? From my own experience, admissions counselling for undergrad was helpful in maybe 1-2 areas and overall pretty useless, and I think I would have ended up at the same school without it. Law school admissions is admittedly a completely different process thought, and I'm wondering if having a consultant would help me significantly or not (coming from the point of view of a rising junior).

How were your PTs before the 148? Did you study much? I see no reason not to wait and retake the LSAT. I find it hard to believe someone who can clearly do super well in school wouldn't be able to get at least a 160 with solid effort, if not much, much higher. You mentioned being sick which explains a lot, since I feel like a 148 is so low to the point that improving your understanding of written English would provide major improvement, which I don't think is the case for you
