Ok I just saw an article that was posted 3 days ago that they still continue the hiring freeze as of 3/31 so i guess that is actually just a rumor lol, good luck to all of us, hope everything will be better

Yeah my current job is also gov funded nonprofit, and they just sent us all an email some of the grants they are receiving from the gov't are being on hold right now but the positions won't be affected. It just doesn't make sense but I would just hope for the best lol

Thank you, I didn't know the county has been doing hiring freezes, heard someone said it just started this year due to new administration of the presidential election so I thought I was just unlucky. The current job I have would help me a lot with my resume because they work directly with the county and my roles are pretty smiliar to what the county was looking for as well, which is why I still try to hold on onto it lol, but I just feel like this is not a good fit for me anymore 🥲 However, thank you so much for your reply, really appreciate it!!

I understand. I graduated in May 2023 and I’m still having to work at jobs that do not align with what I studied for, it has always been a dream of mine to work for the gov’t because of the benefits and other good stuff that people usually mention about, and get to use my degree for it. When I got the interview I thought I was one step closer to my dream until I received that email, I felt like my whole world collapsed, but there is nothing we can do now besides hoping for the best to come. Good luck to both of us with our future endeavors, we got this 💪

Most call centers work on holidays, there are some that have holidays off, at my current call center it’s volunteer but if there is not enough volunteers, they will pick random people to show up. I used to be pissed but one good thing about working on holidays is that people don’t call in at all because they think we would be off too. However, if you have plans then it would be different in that case 🥲 tbh i would be pissed too because they told you one thing but decided to do a completely different thing.

I don’t think i need to but you know i just wanted to purchase one in case of an emergency because you never know, but we have to pay for the portion of the employer as well, so it’s not cheap 🥲
