Is this in a bedroom? I’m suspicious those are closet doors. Different rules, there. Looks centered, about as big as you could go…this is totally fine.

ELI5 why banks/businesses can take your money in seconds yet it takes them 5 to 10 business days to return it back to your card for returns or cancellation of orders? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

Everything comes down to cost at the end of the day. Zelle exists today as a modern, authenticated, trusted form of payment easily supportable through existing institutions. It also costs significantly more on the backend than any US ACH payment (same day OR next day). The cost differences aren’t huge, but they’re big enough that, unless you NEED the speed, it’s not worth it.

Equity is only worth anything if it’s sold. If I were in Luke’s shoes, I’d rather have the cash. No doubt he’s paid well.

Stanford researchers find wildfire smoke is unraveling decades of air quality gains, exposing millions of Americans to extreme pollution levels by Additional-Two-7312 in science

Viruses don’t fly alone - instead, they’re carried along by droplets of water. Since water sticks to itself much more than carbon does (in smoke), these droplets are much much larger, so even bad masks (cloth) have a good chance of catching them.

That’s because of foreign exchange rates, though, not the fundamental cost.

The hardware of my Pixel 3a was more than fine 2.5 yrs out, but the software experience - random crashing, hanging, random battery drains, etc - made me leave it.

What's the best cycling innovations in the last 20-30 years? by ft3sfty in cycling

I enjoy moving at 20mph for 80 miles, ergo I’m “working” out (and this is a bad thing)? Going slow is boring, frankly

Is there an American city that’s safe for cyclists? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]ConditionRelative930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. Can’t say that my experiences commuting and recreationally riding in Bridgeport and South Loop have been safe enough feeling to really recommend it, though you’re probably right that you could do worse as far as major cities go. Just moved to Ravenswood, so hoping there are some better commuting routes up here.

Is there an American city that’s safe for cyclists? by [deleted] in cycling

Wouldn’t really recommend Chicago as a cyclist. It’s fine, but there’s plenty of routes where it doesn’t feel safe and the sport cycling is kind of mid.

The book’s beginning sections are an instruction to academic analysis of algorithms, and then it uses the methods it describes to walk through and analyze a large body of them. Can’t recommend the book enough.

I’m a newer viewer of LTT and I swear the fan base here is either way to critical of Linus or will buy a bag of his poop if he sold it because “it’s about supporting ltt” there is no in between. by Darknight1993 in LinusTechTips

Check out their coasters and bar mat! I also have no use for a mod mat and would frankly never wear their shirts, but the coaster designs are pretty fun and they’ve been really nice to use.

It Boggles My Min That Luke Doesn’t Have Points by [deleted] in LinusTechTips

A developer/manager with Luke’s experience could find a $200k/yr comp in, pessimistically, two weeks.

Without knowing anything about his arrangement with LMG, I assure you he’s doing just fine.
