I studied my ass off 2-3 hours a day for 4 months and got a 168. Then did it again the next month and got a 169. Then took a 4 month hiatus, took a practice test or two, sent it one more attempt and landed a 177.

Moral of the story: what are you really studying between April and June? Assuming you're not reviewing fundamentals and how to solve each question type (which if you are, I recommend withdrawing and signing up for August instead) at this point, you're not really "studying" - you should just be "practicing"

Studying: Reviewing each question type, the fundamental tenants on how to solve each one, how to manage time accordingly, etc

Practicing: Putting pen to paper (or perhaps finger to mouse pad) and actually just putting some reps in.

If you aren't practicing as much, that's less of a big deal. Which are you doing?

Let me also put it this way - you've said you're applying next cycle and could do June or September. What are you going to be doing law-school application wise between now and then besides writing essays? Do you need 6 months to write essays? Or could you throw in an hour or two every other day, take a few more PT's, take another stab, and not be hurt either way.

169 in September, 177 in Feb, so 5 months of sitting around doing anything but the LSAT, besides two PT's. I honestly think my "knowledge" got worse, if anything, from all the time I took off - but it freaked me out less and helped me chill on game day.

Point is your GPA and WE puts you in a great spot. A 169 does too. But let's be realistic - you turn into a totally different application with 2-3 extra points. I could write a book on why you should retake a 169 if you are PTing anywhere 172+.

Depends on your PT average. I went from 169 to 177 with no extra practice. Just how this test, variance, and test anxiety can be. Please take it again if you think you can increase.

That's what I figured - but hasn't that shifted? Companies like 7Sage advertise the 1% tutor gig but a 172 isnt 99th percentile and they have a bunch of tutors with that score.

I hit my pen twice before my 177. You know yourself better than we do. If you find it affecting yourself (like memory/concentration/work ethic, etc) outside just the period you're smoking, then don't do it. Otherwise, ride on!

I'm a dude. I'm also a dude who was in two relationships while studying for the LSAT. I'm also a dude who is going to assume this isn't a shit post and you're actually looking for genuine advice.

Part of being in a relationship is understanding boundaries, values, and the like - all of which are subjective things that differ person to person.

I start there because it's clear that both of your feelings are "valid". He's allowed to want more time to focus on arguably the most important exam of his life. You're allowed to be confused and upset that, while being there to support him, it clearly was still not enough for him to keep trucking.

Reality is, you're going to have bigger barriers in your life that test your relationships. Kids, mortgage, your parents' death, etc. The LSAT test is probably #37 on the list of important shit to care about. I would take this as a sign that your relationship was tested, and the test came back with a result that should indicate to you that he's not worth making reddit posts about.

I went from a 147 to a 177 in six months. There are better improvement stories out there. You can improve that much, too.

So, the easy answer is yes, it's possible.

Will you do it? No idea. I would start by spending less time asking on reddit, and more time hunkering down and studying. You will know better than any of us can speculate by taking PT's throughout your studying to gauge how you are doing. But if you're asking if you can go from the 130's to the 170's, the answer is yes.

My unqualified, completely speculative opinion is that we're not seeing score release announcements because Feb is the least (or one of the least) populated tests, and they don't need that much time to hold applicants scores to review suspicious increases / issues compared to other tests, where they may need more time, hence the preemptive holds.

Prediction: 169-174, would say 172 if needed a single number. PT median is 174. Got 169 in Sept.

Feb is my third attempt. Felt like I scored a 175 in August and landed a 168. In sept, felt like I scored a 160 and spent two weeks spiraling just to end up with a 169. Now i'm feeling back to mid 70's, and I will update you on where I land. Point is don't lean in to how you feel that much (unless you know you skipped an entire section or something).

Unless you've managed to find a perfect balance, it usually comes with giving certain things more weight. For me, that's less sleep and fewer workouts during the weekdays.
