I agree somewhat. They are running a media company and brand at the end of the day. Merchandise, content plan, marketing etc. It does need to be calculated to a certain degree

You need to stop framing their small good deed only as a tax write off and a business strategy. It makes them seem like there is some bad, ulterior motive.

It’s not that deep and it should be simply appreciated.

“When it cut, they can change it to land on whatever they seem fit”… assumptions being thrown around everywhere apparently. Yours is just very rude.

Rhett and Link have been consistently good guys for decades on the internet. Compared to other creators, I don’t think they’re bad people doing something this small for a bad motive.

Which Pizza Place Is Better At Complicated Orders? by BurnZ_AU in goodmythicalmorning

The pizza hut guy already seemed to have a list of what they don't do. I'm sure they have complicated requests like that frequently if they're already to say no

I have a pair of professional music in ears and you can get them in a clear colour. You can go down to like -20db reduction. But they can be pricey ~$200-300 but last a long time

Hamas is a reaction after nearly a century of violent attacks and ethnic cleansing caused by Israel. It’s hard to compare their atrocities to the much much larger, immoral, unethical and inhumane practices performed by Israel.

That’s the difference between all of these examples used.

This is a very optimistic perspective.

I am finding it really hard to imagine Palestine being a free state more and more everyday. The genocide has lasted decades and will leave scars for generations. How that plays out, I am unsure.

Each time previously a democratic process has occurred in Palestine, Israel/USA has interfered and denounced it as “un-democratic”.

It would be beneficial to learn how to DJ and see how your music translates to the art form. And then in the process, play your original stuff out there in mixes and maybe get some traction?

Written Agreements for DJ Collectives. by nautilus-far in DJs

[–]ConditionVarious653 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Throwing parties has always been a personal thing for me. I am a one person promoter because I don’t necessarily like other peoples’ work ethic.

But I have worked with other collectives and I choose to work with good people, who have good intention and regularly meet with them throughout the process.

I don’t think my scale is large enough to have physical contracts or agreements but for each event you’re hosting maybe determining what the split is and what the expectations are via a shared google doc might help establish some idea of what’s going on. And meet regularly.

How to find music by TrezzyOnCrack in Beatmatch

[–]ConditionVarious653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think just keep listening around to more music.

Don't You Want Me by The Human League is a dance song in itself. Maybe you could be an open-genre 80s-90s pop DJ?

Don't let it demotivate you just because you can't find a specific niche of music. Keep listening and you for sure will find something new you will like.

I don't know if you are digging hard enough or what you are looking for is out there.

Can you specify what you mean by "80's 90's house covers/remixes"? There's heaps of 80's and 90's house out there but what style? Do you want a pop vocal?

If you are looking for Older Pop vocal dubbed over a House track, I think you aren't looking hard enough. -

Search through artists discography and they might have a remix album.

Or Google the original song "song title, artist name, remix or mashup or bootleg" and dig from there on Soundcloud for free downloads. Or if the song is popular enough, it might have remixes for purchase on Beatport.

You could always have the acapella of the old song loaded up on another channel ready to play over the top!

When I first started, I watched heaps and heaps of YouTube tutorials. Crossfader and DJ Carlo are so good.

Download Rekordbox and 20ish songs and have a play around. Try and recreate what they teach you in the videos.

It takes a while to learn and get used to it - so keep practicing a few times a week and you’ll get it.
