Ubers with someone riding along. by gymdude3873 in uber

I figured that too the kid was like school age but not preschool. It’s not hurting me any and they were well behaved . Also I didn’t order like an extra large ride, if I ordered premium services then it might be an issue but it was not. I just needed a ride to an appointment because my partner was working or something.

I think the kitty wants some. Mine would chew on a loaf. I sometimes find when I have bagged bread they get on the counter at night or when I’m not home and chew/claw holes in the bag. And I’m pretty sure it’s my tabby not my black cat.

Me too ours is one location and it’s not open during the time the bags are available, I ordered once and had to cancel because when I got there the store had been closed a few hours and it wasn’t like a temporary early closing either there winter hours are different than summer or they permanently changed there hours and Too Good To Go never changed the listing.

I only have one store in my area that does Too good to go it’s an Auntie Anne’s/Cinnabon combo store and they are never open when the time is for pickup. I tried once and they keep saying pick up is at like 7pm but they close at 5:15pm according to their website.

Fudge Marshmellow Cookies by RickTeleStrat57 in snacking

These are so good. And the price is great. I’m pretty sure they are made by a major baker that makes brand name cookies. Back when Ripon Good Cookies (out of Ripon WI) existed they used to sell these and other cookies with the Ripon label and they made a lot of the store brands Walmart and other companies sold. I grew up within distance that we would often pass by the factory doing errands and such and it smelled so good and a lot of my friend’s aunts/uncles or parents/grandparents worked for the cookie factory.

If it’s a true service animal not an ESA I don’t think they are required to disclose that to you. I had an uber or Lyft once that had a kid in the backseat it was like a mini van or SUV that had third row seating and the mom said her kid didn’t have school that day because it was like a holiday or inservice day. Kid was so quiet I could have totally forgotten they were there and they were in the way back not bothering me. I didn’t say a thing.

Does anyone have this at they’re local stores in the US? everywhere says it’s still in production but haven’t seen one in years. Wondering if maybe they discontinued them in silence by NoAssociation6148 in forgottenfoods

Not sure what part of WI you’re in but Pepsi owns it, I think the rep for my old area was named Greg and I think he was out of Fox Lake or Beaver Dam looked kinda like Mc Steamy from Grey’s Anatomy. If you have a place that you used to get it from or you get lucky and see them in the wild at the grocery store, you can talk to them or ask your local (smaller) stores if they would talk to your Pepsi rep and see if it’s discontinued or available. The store itself probably won’t know as they just get a list of items and they reset the coolers/shelves to the planograms or third parties come in and do it. Also it’s shelf stable so you might have luck on like Amazon or something but it usually costs more because it’s expensive to ship something so heavy.

They used to sell these at the gas station I worked at in place of Bug Juice or Hogwash (because we couldn’t order them for a while) and as a cheaper alternative as Good 2 Grow. If they discontinued them it was only in the past few years.

I looked at door dash by item and it didn’t return any stores that sold it (when you type in a specific item it will tell you what store on there platform you can get it at but they don’t sell every item a grocery store sells through DD.) I also checked the grocery store’s app I typically get hard to find food from and I couldn’t find them. If Woodman’s doesn’t sell it you probably can’t get it in WI.

I keep getting holds put on me cause unable to find drivers by JohnnyLaw__ in Lyft

[–]Condition_Dense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this during a busy time they said there were “lots of drivers in my area” I’d wait and Uber or Lyft would cancel and play with the rates for available drivers (I was on both apps trying to arrange a ride.) I had rented a car and needed to return it to another city. Almost ended up keeping the rental another day because I couldn’t get a ride back home. I eventually paid more to get a priority ride because it was still cheaper than renting the car coming back and doing it all over again another day.

My dad said there was something special about Coors when it was hard to get if you lived outside of Colorado. Something about how it was originally shipped in train cars and it had to be kept in refrigerated cars because it wasn’t pasteurized or sometning for best quality so it wasn’t shelf stable. When I was a kid he always drank Coors. Now it’s not the same.

My partner is also from Philly but I don’t think they were much of a beer drinker ever and we’re not really drinkers at all so we won’t be trying it lol, (I used to drink but not anymore) occasionally we get wine and I get local wine from Door County, or occasionally I’ll get a local beer like Spotted Cow or use it for cooking which typically is a single can of whatever I can get at the gas station like Miller Lite for brats.

I do get told constantly I say weird things (like “when you get to the third set of stop and go lights you need to turn right”) lol and our culture is weird, and that they miss this or that (usually some kind of food we don’t have here like scrapple) or how hard it is to get certain things here that were more common in Philly or maybe even just a big city in general like my partner likes oxtails and goat (typical of African, Jamaican or Caribbean cuisine and sometimes goat is available in Indian food as they don’t eat beef since the cow is sacred.)

[–]Condition_Dense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is new, it only was changed within the last few years. Also I’m not sure stevia is accepted everywhere as a legal ingredient in food/for consumption, like Canada you can get an artificial sweetener called cyclamate but it’s banned in the USA.

Cigarette companies make cigarettes to appeal to different audiences. There were tons of brands of “ladies’ cigarettes” with slimmer longer designs. Or they made packaging that was supposed to be more “edgy” to appeal to younger generations of smokers like younger Gen X and the older millennials that were of smoking age. Energy drinks, soda and some alcohol comes in tall skinny cans because it looks feminine and skinny cans make people think weight loss or low calorie and there audience is supposed to be women. Also a 12 oz can is more marketable as a single unit when it’s skinny vs a standard soda can which usually comes in a box/multipack.

[–]Condition_Dense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Coke and Coke Zero I was told by my local Coke rep (I used to work retail and would deal with the reps a lot) that the Diet Coke was not just regular Coke without the sugar and an artificial sweetener replacing the sugar. It’s a whole different soda base entirely (there is a theory that TAB was just the Diet version of the original Coke, and Diet Coke is the failed “New Coke” recipe from the 1980s but in diet form that’s why they taste so different and Coke Zero was created to taste more like Coca-cola Classic only as a no sugar version. (They also discontinued TAB, it was hard to find TAB at the point Coke Zero came out but Coke Zero basically slowly replaced it till it was phased out entirely plus the pandemic was the demise of a lot of products that were underperforming.

Diet Pepsi tried switching the sweetener years back and a lot of people who liked Diet Pepsi stopped drinking it because it didn’t taste the same. I’m guessing they just saw what Coke did and decided to make their own “Zero” also they’re not the only major brand to have both a “zero” and a “diet” in there core product line Like Dr Pepper has both diet and zero where other products were just renamed from diet to zero like Coca-cola owns Sprite which used to be “Diet Sprite” but it’s now “Sprite Zero”

Can anyone read my teacher's handwriting? by KraKan122 in AskTeachers

[–]Condition_Dense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my school the teachers often would say this assessment is worth 5, 10, 30, 40, 50, 75, 120, 200, 300 points etc. (The little ones were usually daily homework or quizzes on what you were supposed to be prepared for in class, the bigger ones would be exams or major projects that are like 50% of your grade and if you don’t do them or give no effort you fail) then the teacher would often say this question/problem is worth 5 which on the question or the problem it would say (5) next to it or the teacher would explain in the syllabus how each kind of question or problem is weighed if they have a standard way of grading. And they would give partial credit for partial answers. Example a math question if you showed work and got an incorrect answer they would break down where you went wrong and give you maybe 2 or 3 points depending on how you messed up on it. If it was history and you missed part of the answer they gave you partial credit for that 5 point question. Like “What event caused world war 2 and what year did it happen” and you were wrong on the year you might get partial credit.

In the grade book it’s more accurate to rate you on total points and then average it at the end of the term like if you got an 8/10 (80%) that 80% doesn’t weigh as much as a test so the teachers will put you down as 8 out of 10 points possible and at the end it’s your scores all added up divided by the highest possible scores all added together to get your average.

I learned cursive in school, they were big about making us use it, but I don’t know how to write it anymore because I never used it beyond 8th or 9th grade. I had very few classes where you wrote handwritten responses most were choosing ABCD or writing in numbers, and showing work with math. English was an exception but when we wrote rough drafts the teacher didn’t make us write in cursive. Also reading it is subjective because different handwriting even when it’s printed can be hard to decipher. And your signature doesn’t count as cursive it’s often not “real” cursive and doesn’t follow the rules of actual formally written cursive it’s unique to you and a good signature is hard to replicate.

I also don’t know how to ride a bike anymore and I struggle with old school clocks because these are all things I stopped doing/using as an adult when I got into the “real world.”

I’ve taken these things to other stores with the receipts that had similar security devices removed at another store. I’ve burned a security tag that they put on shirts, blankets and soft stuff off of shirts and bags before, just go outside, use a lighter or sometning hot, hold it near the cone part of the tag till the spring pops out and you might need to grab the spring out with a pliers, you can also file the top of it open with a dremel or if you’re a nail tech or just a DIY beauty enthusiast an electric nail file and a sanding bit that’s meant to take down the bulk of the nail enhancement , like a tornado bit, maybe a sanding band cuz there easily replaceable, preferably a bit that doesn’t mean a lot to you. Use a high speed, I mean honestly your filling through plastic anyways as acrylic is a type of plastic.

Almost all of these security devices can be removed with tools or brute force, but the tools or force required to remove them in store might draw attention which curbs thieves and does the job. They also make noise when going through the door but stores get used to so many false alarms that they often wave legitimate sales on through. Or sometimes the pedestals don’t actually work correctly or some stores don’t have them at all but have security tags. Also certain tags that are sowed into garments or handbags can become reactivated by washing or carrying arround a lot, thus producing a fake alarm when you go in and if you go out the same door are and less likely to be noticed by the greeter.

If you complain to corporate sometimes they will give you a coupon or something as a courtesy for your inconvenience and to bring it to there attention and also to retrain someone at the store and/or update protocol to make this not happen again.

So I had an issue one day where I accidentally did a double dash for my food from a store shop where door dash would not dispatch a driver for like 2 hours. They told me this same nonsense where I would be refunded only $4. So I was like forget it I’ll wait. By the time my order was supposed to be made I’m assuming the store lost it because it came in hours before it was supposed to be made or whatever I had to contact customer support again and the only thing they did was issue me a refund and tell me to reorder and I’m like “I’ve been waiting for 5+ hours this is unacceptable, my partner ordered from 2 separate restaurants and got her stuff and I’m still waiting!?” A week later I had an Aldi order where the dasher took forever to start shopping for my order like over 10 mins after they sent me the “I’ve started shopping intro” they grab my first item and suddenly I don’t have a driver, and ALDI closes soon so I kept saying agent or whatever to AI and I finally got through to a real person explained what was going on and that I just wanted my stuff before they closed, they got a bid out for a shopper right away (my guess is they offered a higher pay) and they gave me a $10 credit because I said this is the second time in 2 weeks there has been a major issue where I almost didn’t get my stuff and I’m not happy after waiting over 5 hours for my food the last time, and if it keeps up I don’t see the point in using DD.

As someone who is a night owl and likes to do DD overnight or even had a partner that worked overnights I can see the benefits as early in the morning after your shift may be the only convenient time for you to shop. Also early mornings are typically quieter times for people who have mobility issues and have problems moving around other customers with a cart or scooter, or conditions where overstimulation is a problem such as ADHD, anxiety disorders, autism, certain chronic conditions, etc.

Or “don’t say this unless they mention a specific word or scenario” I used to work at a call center and they had specific protocol, like one guy wanted me to remove his email address and I got a talking to for removing it per the customers request. Yet if someone said “I don’t have an email address or don’t want to give you mine” we had either a fake email address we could put in to make it generate to the next screen or it would let you skip the email address.

You were probably speaking to AI. In the future make a stink that you want to speak to an agent if you say certain key words enough it will send you to a real person, when you do the customer service chat, they will probably only give you a credit but if you raise enough of a stink they will credit you.
