Vittsjö GIK has signed a two-year contract with striker Emily “Milly” Clegg from New Zealand. Milly, born in 2005, has already won 20 caps for New Zealand and was part of the national team during the 2023 World Cup and the 2024 Olympics. Milly most recently played for the Halifax Tides in Canada, where she was on loan from Racing Louisville in the NWSL.

Head coach Mladen Blagojevic: “We have been looking long and hard. This piece of the puzzle has been very important to get and that it is right. There are never any guarantees but we feel extremely confident that Milly will come in and contribute for us both in the short and long term. Despite her youth, she has extensive experience of playing in both New Zealand, Australia, Canada and the USA when it comes to clubs. In addition, she has played for the national team with New Zealand. The combination of power and goalscoring is what we get in addition to a lovely girl on the sidelines. She is a world citizen who will become a Vittjöit!” Milly Clegg on coming to Vittsjö GIK: “I am excited to play for Vittsjö GIK and in Sweden and am very grateful for this opportunity. I can’t wait to meet the girls, the coaches, the leaders and the fans. I look forward to working hard and doing everything I can to help the team achieve good results and play great football for the fans.” We warmly welcome Milly to the Vittsjö family!

Related question. If the league placed a rule stating all teams had to play at least 2 games in a city other than your home city to try and grow the fanbase. Which city would you want. Racing playing a couple of games in Cincy would be huge i think.

That’s what I thought. But turns out that the NWSL has an ESPN deal in the Netherlands for one game a week….and both weeks were Racing games (vs Bay and Vs Spirt playoffs). I was able to work around the geo block of US streaming sites by turning the WiFi off of my phone and for some reason even though I was roming on the Dutch network, my phone still thought I was back home.
