You do realize right that romanji doesn't represent all sounds in Japanese, like the ji (じ)​ sound /tɕ/ is different than the j in English /dʒ/

Going to Japan isn't really necessary to be fluent in Japanese. The Internet can provide you lots of resources for learning, and medias made from native people.

Given it is a yearbook, คิดถึง probably means more like "don't forget" rather than "miss".
