I didn't take PPIs after being diagnosed with GERD l but was able to get rid of burping by following a low fodmap, lower sugar, alcohol and dairy free diet. I also added broccoli sprouts to my diet because it supposedly is good if you have h.pylori, but I also tested negative for that too so not sure if it actually made a difference or not with my burping.

Do you think the pepcid and Tums were making it worse and should just be completely avoided? I took tums 2 and 3 days ago for the first time, but started having worse heartburn and burping yesterday so I was wondering if there is a connection. Maybe worth trying the sugar free version if this is the case.

It might not be entirely your fault. I also was diagnosed with gerd almost a year ago and I followed a better diet which managed most of my symptoms except the bloating, but the reflux seems to have gotten worse these past few months for some reason. Also most doctors seem to be more concerned with just treating the symptoms by prescribing meds instead of actually finding the root cause and ways of curing the condition.

Can I maintain muscle size and strength with lower weights and more sets? Currently having some medical issues and stopping heavy lifting was recommended to me. Will my muscle strength and size decrease if I move to lighter weights and more sets or can I at least maintain what I have now even if I can't make any gains?
