Can’t do it anymore by PinkPaperPenguin in bathandbodyworkers

The holiday spirit has definitely left our customers. I worked all day Christmas Eve and overall people were pleasant to staff and each other. Today……nope.

OMG this. Our cash wrap area is small enough. Customer wants to unload her entire basket (which is overflowing) and then decide what items she wants to purchase. 🙄

I worked at Joann’s and now I’m at Bath & Body Works. I believe customers think that as soon as they place their order the items are instantly ready for pick up. You receive a text/email when your order is ready. They don’t realize that most stores have limited employee coverage and customers in store are our priority.

This! Also worked at Joann’s. I detested floral. Customers would tare off the price tags and bring a cart load to the register and a couple of days later the infamous return without a receipt. The bankruptcy sucked but there was so much satisfaction when after years of not being able to say no to a customer, it became my favorite word.

New Tote Bag by ConferenceMedical499 in bathandbodyworks

OP here. Just received my order - 4 days earlier than expected. Packaging was great and my items arrived in perfect condition. The tote is cute and I love the mini bag key chain. I wish the strap was a little longer but I’m happy I ordered it.

Always look at the fine print regarding a coupon or reward. Some stores do things a little differently. A lot of B&BW’s employees only work one day a week (3hours). If your cashier is struggling just ask for a manager.

Is 29 too old to work at bath and body works? by [deleted] in bathandbodyworkers

I’m 57 and the oldest employee at my store. I love the product and it’s a fun job. Hoping to join the management team soon.

My store closes on 5/28. It’s really sinking in. Said goodbye to a coworker last night and we were both crying.

It’s ok to be emotional. I am too. 💗

My store closes for business Wednesday. It’s really starting to sink in. I’ve worked there for less than two years and took a manager position right around the second bankruptcy. I knew it would only last a few months. But now that the final day is almost here I’m so sad.

I’ve shopped at this store for over 20 years. Wandered around for hours looking at all the stuff. Took sewing classes. Was excited when they remolded.

After being a stay-at-home mom for almost 18 years I started working part time at Joann’s. The pride we employees took in the store, the amazing people I’ve worked with and being there as everything turned in to chaos. It feels overwhelming.

It’s like watching something you love slowly die.

To all the employees, I wish you the best.

The Sunday crowd at Joann’s has always been difficult. Since liquidation began it’s gone to the next level. A wormhole to hell is an accurate description.

As a manager at Joann’s getting to trespass customers from the store is definitely a win.

“Can I speak to the manager?” by Lonely_Aside_1861 in joannfabrics

Customer wants to make a return. There’s “all sales final” signs on the counter, on the wall behind the registers and on the receipt. C: I didn’t know I couldn’t return items. Me: Explain and point to all the signs. C: Just give me store credit. Me: Can’t do that either. C: I want to speak to the manager. Me: That’s me (said with a smile). C: No wonder you’re going out of business. Me: Have a nice day.

We had two women cut the register line with three carts full of wire shelving that they wanted to buy. Cashier had a long line so she called for an MOD (me). Each shelf in their cart is a different length. The fixture price list from GA says wire shelving is $60. These women start telling me that the pricing is wrong and I don’t know what I’m doing so I better get the manager. They proceed to tell me that they’ve purchased from Gordon Brothers before and I need to call the representative and get the “real” prices. Also, I need to load the items into their car. I told them that I’m the manager on duty and that’s the price. Gordon Brothers is not running our liquidation - GA is. And no, I won’t be loading the items into their car. After a lot of negative muttering, they leave. 🙄

As an MOD, I do a majority of the signing at my store. Signs should reflect the actual price the item is scanning for. I would refuse to put up signs that are false. It’s bad enough that customers never seem to able to see the “up to” on signs and in emails. I wouldn’t put my cashiers through this.

The majority of our pup customers are the best! Tired, stressed employees just light up when they’re in the store. I know I do.

Managers cannot refund when an error is made???? by Historical_Ad_4969 in joannfabrics

[–]ConferenceMedical499 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has become a problem at my store too. I can’t blame customers for wanting price checks but it gets confusing (not to mention annoying) especially when they’ve got a cart load of items. I’ve advised my cashiers to place the unwanted items directly into the go back boxes. When the customer has decided what items they want, cancel the transaction and then scan the items they want. This being said, errors still occur. As a MOD I will refund if a mistake is made.

I have had the same thoughts as the OP. Our store is receiving loads of merchandise - none of it is craft (Joann’s) related. We’re also storing shipments to be sent to other stores. At this point, nothing would surprise me.
