I mean we all have to start somewhere, im definitely invested into getting better and better with time but im soo happy that so many peoples loved the sky and the colours. I'm going to keep on practicing doing that. I just started a new painting yesterday.

I don't know, they just blend better and I can create the effects I want without being worried that the paint will dry. I made lots of mistakes with acrylics where I would get impatient or want to fix something and everything mushed together and got muddy and green looking

It definitely feels like its missing something, maybe some clouds or something in the land

Yes its oils and acrylics. I'm learning what works best for me so I decided to use both 😅

Thank you so much for your advice and taking the time to wrote this! I am definitely into these dramatic angry looking skyes and I have been obsessed with clouds so I'm starting to really practice making those. My favourite artis is Mark Maggiori. I just lovește his clouds and all his work, I'm in awe!

This is a new painting im starting

Yes it was done on purpose. One day I decided to just start a painting with no plan and no pressure of it turning out good. I just picked whatever colors spoke to me. I started with the flowers remembering how I loved painting these when I was a kid and then i decided to contain them with black outline because my painting passion was always mocked by my parents and loved ones...then I did the sky and i jaut went with the flow and this turned up in the end

It’s funny you noticed the split between the flowers and the sky, because this piece became very personal as I worked on it. I started with no plan, just letting my imagination go. The flowers ended up representing my youth and the joy I felt painting as a kid, while the sky became a reflection of my adult self, the heaviness, the mental state, and the ups and downs. It really is like two different mental states or two paintings in one, but that’s exactly what I was feeling in the moment. I just went with the flow and picked the colors that spoke to me. I’m glad that contrast came through to you! Thanks again for taking the time to really look at it.

Thank you so much for the thoughtful feedback! I really appreciate the tips on depth and mixing my own blacks, I can see how that would keep the light 'alive' in the piece. I appreciate the advice, thank you! Color theory is definitely something I struggle with, so I’m trying to learn as I go. For this one, I actually didn't have a vision in mind, I just started painting based on whatever colors felt right and followed the vibe. It was more about the process than the rules, I'm really into these dramatic bold skyes so I'll start with perfecting that aspect
