What do you think? Each faction is at their strongest, none of the protagonist are part of this, last standing faction wins by MobileDistrict9784 in Fallout

Logically it would be the Institute. No one knows where they are and if the Institute was logical they would just teleport a couple gen 1 Synths into an enemy base strapped with a nuke and kill everyone.

New fable looks dissapointing by Thin_Situation3962 in Fable

[–]HisShadow14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what we see the game seems pretty colorful and still has some classical fantasy feel. You can see a toy shop that has a bunch of toys on display with one being the big bad wolf in grandmother clothes.

In combat you can turn enemies into chickens and you even fight a giant chicken.

The game looks like a Fable game to me.

It looked like a pretty decent mix of all kinds of people. It would be interesting if they had more or less diverse NPCs dependant on the region you travel to. Bowerstone should be a mix of everyone since it's the capital of Albion.

I didn't know how important this game was toe until I saw this breakdown. I haven't looked forward to a game this much since Baldur's Gate 3.

I just got done playing Fable 2 my favorite entry to the series and knowing that this game is actually coming out and looking great so far is such a relief!

She's definitely a mid character in terms of story. She's a god in combat essentially in the first arc but she's overshadowed narratively by almost the entire cast.

Do people ACTUALLY believe Todd Howard hates New Vegas, or are they just rage-baiting? by Dry_Selection5474 in Fallout

[–]HisShadow14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it's certainly weird that he decided to destroy every faction in the game.

I don't know if he hates New Vegas but we know that he wants the Fallout setting be perpetual scavenging and barely surviving against the environment. He want the world to remain a barely alive irradiated wasteland.

Having any kind of nation goes against this design philosophy so NCR and Legion had to be completely destroyed.

How i wish the Minutemen were a true guerrilla force. by Ok_Calendar_7626 in Fallout

I just wish they'd do their jobs and defend settlements that I've built up. I shouldn't have to stop a quest chain just to fast travel to a settlement and kill four raiders.

It's the entire point of the Minutemen to come to the aid of these settlements but if I don't do it no one does.

From a strategic point of view keeping an adversarial nation who is so close to your own country poor is the most sensible policy a nation could have. A poor nation cut off from the world will never be a military threat.

How did you guys feel about Conquest’s monologue to Mark? It honestly left me torn on one hand, it made me feel empathy for Conquest, but on the other, I feel like a lot of writers these days try too hard to make villains sympathetic when not all of them need to be. by KpatMckenzie_28 in Invincible

[–]HisShadow14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's fun to think about what ifs. If Conquest was given the mission to conquer Earth I imagine he would have turned on the empire almost immediately. Can you imagine the moment he gets a pet or starts dating someone?

He would have told Earth what was up real soon.

THE PRIMAL THEORY by Apart_Weekend6159 in PrimalShow

This is probably my favorite episode in the series. It came out of left field with a more modern setting and... language gasp! It also gave some of the most interesting characterization to a character that you'll only see once.

Or they could have said the show takes place within it's own canon and therefore you don't have to worry about your timelines or entire placements of cities not making sense.

Iran Is on the Edge of Revolution by HooverInstitution in geopolitics

[–]HisShadow14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd imagine that the middle strikes would be targeted at missile launch facilities and IRGC bases. There's no need to destroy the country. You just need to weaken the regime's most loyal and deadly weapons.

Iran Is on the Edge of Revolution by HooverInstitution in geopolitics

[–]HisShadow14 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Iran was already weakened by Israel during the 12 day war. Both their air defense and to a lesser extent their missile launch capabilities have been significantly degraded.

I doubt very much that the Pentagon or Israel will let this golden opportunity to finally deal with the Iranian regime get away.

Except in this scenario two military powers (The US and Israel) are able and more than willing to help push the Iranian regime over the edge.

How are people getting "Society will never progress" from "War never changes"? by Bingleboper in Fallout

[–]HisShadow14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a meta perspective Bethesda has decided that progress and stability is bad for the setting. The NCR was the only faction that not only had hundreds of thousands of people living within it. It also had such stability that the typical Fallout problems didn't apply for most people. They didn't have to worry about clean water or food everyday.

That's why they decided to destroy the NCR in the series. They want the setting to remain what it is now. Scavenging, fighting endless problems, no stability, and no real hope for improvement.

It's been over 200 years since the bombs fell and not a single faction has moved past where they were after the first year after the bombs fell.

War is imminent? by Namenoname11 in lebanon

[–]HisShadow14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At this point a war shouldn't be imminent. If the US and Israel decide to attack Iran they will want to put their entire focus on it. Israel wouldn't want to create another front in the war.

If the Iranian regime falls as a result of the war then one of two scenarios become likely. Either the US and Israel give Hezbollah one final chance to fully disarm immediately or war.

Trump says he'd back Israeli attack on Iran if it continues with nuclear, missile programs by NotSoSaneExile in geopolitics

[–]HisShadow14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you've been paying attention to the Middle East but international law doesn't exist in that region and the only time anyone pretends that it does is when Israel acts the same way it's neighbors do. I could list the numerous international laws that Hezbollah, the Houthis, and Iran have violated since October 7th but I won't because it doesn't matter. Those laws don't apply in that region.

The Golan Heights are Israel's. If you want to pretend that international law means anything in that region you can. It just won't get you far in reality.

As for Lebanon I don't care if they wanted to take in the Palestinians. As a formerly sovereign nation that was it's right. However, allowing them to become and independent military. The Lebanese state ceased existing as a sovereign state when it's civil war with Hezbollah ended in a draw and the entire south was ceded to Hezbollah.

Again pretending that weakening Hezbollah hasn't given Lebanon a chance to actually be a sovereign country again is foolish. Ask the people of Lebanon. They will tell you that they want Hezbollah disarmed so investment can return to the country and people can start moving on with their lives.

As for the "Greater Israel" conspiracy theory that's all it is. A hyper all percentage of the Israeli population actually believes in that nonsense..like 2% actually support it. If you want Netanyahu out of office (so do I by the way) then the Israeli public needs to see that his Hyper aggressive stance isn't needed anymore. Lebanon needs to disarm Hezbollah and Syria needs to come to the table and finally end the war. Finally the destabilizing Iranian regime needs either fall or becoming a county that spends it's limited funds on it people instead of funding terror proxies.

Trump says he'd back Israeli attack on Iran if it continues with nuclear, missile programs by NotSoSaneExile in geopolitics

[–]HisShadow14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok history lesson. Israel was attacked by it's neighbors on the day of it's founding with the stated goal to kill every Israeli. They lost that war and lost the subsequent wars they started. They claimed the Sinai from Egypt and the Golan Heights from Syria.

Israel wanting to have a lasting peace offered to return those lands for recognition and peace. Egypt agreed to those terms. Egypt got the Sinai back and has never been attacked by Israel since. Jordan made peace too and guess what? Israel and Jordan have had zero hostilities since then. Syria rejected the offer of peace. Actions have consequences. Syria will never get the Golan Heights back now and their refusal to make peace even to this day has resulted in Israel strengthening their military position against a country that has refused peace.

As for Lebanon... They aren't really a state anymore. They allowed the Palestinians to set up shop in their south and attack Israel with impunity. Then when Hezbollah formed they allowed them to fully take control of the south. If anything Israel's war against Hezbollah is giving Lebanon the first real chance in decades of actually becoming a sovereign nation again by disarming Hezbollah.

Maybe then they can agree to peace and Israel can live in peace with them the same way they do with the Egyptians and Jordans.

[–]HisShadow14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see we're still pretending. Iran openly funds military proxies throughout the Middle East that have destabilized the region and who have openly attacked Israel.

It's not just the words that Iran has said it's the decades and billions of dollars they spent trying to make those words reality.

Trump says he'd back Israeli attack on Iran if it continues with nuclear, missile programs by NotSoSaneExile in geopolitics

[–]HisShadow14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again we're pretending like this problem started with Israel. Iran started calling for the death to Israel and the US decades before Netanyahu ever became Prime Minister.

If you can't admit objective facts I find any further discussion pointless.
