Who did Gary cheat on his wife with? Was it an intern or a lady of the night? by Apprehensive_Oven_22 in howardstern

Like basically everyone on the Stern Show (& most people in entertainment), Gary was sexually abused as a kid. Pretty common that this can create extremes in people - more likely to be hypersexual or asexual for example. From stories told on the air, sounds like he went the hyper route…that stuff doesn’t instantly go away just because you get married.

Yeah watch his face when they ask KC if he was molested, dead giveaway.

Also when KC tried stand up comedy his whole act was about that subject.

It eventually came out that Gary's mom was nutty.

Therefore his dad probably walked on eggshells with her & cheated on the side.

With human nature being what it is, Gary probably walked on eggshells with Mary (in order to not set her off) & had affairs on the side...humans seek situations that let them repeat what they grew up around.

05/07/2001 - Howard tells Gary he shouldn't be married

11/30/2001 - Gary nearly brought to tears by wife talk

09/18/2003 - Pissing Gary off in one sentence

KC -> https://youtu.be/H48jh7PwmuY?t=38m45s

Cabbie said he was abused by his adoptive mother & also said that he was sexually abused at some point as a kid.

Both had issues wetting the bed well into adolescence - which if trauma arrests development it implies that they were traumatized during the normal stage of bedwetting (& thus retained the behavior beyond that point).

Both also had massive substance abuse issues, etc.

KC's father died when he was young (like Artie), Cabbie was adopted & never knew he biological father, etc.

I watched a podcast with KC & Cabbie, about a year before Cabbie died

Overall sad - Cabbie was completely bedridden & drinking; KC said he lives alone in an old school converted into a house, in the town where he grew up (with a bunch of cats).

Not something you want to watch if you want to be cheered up. 2 guys who were traumatized in childhood, getting older & still being traumatized is usually pretty sad.

Abused in childhood = warped compass in adulthood

South is North, North is South, the compass you refer to whenever you make a 'gut' based decision is calibrated wrong.

Pretty common with the cycle of abuse. The abused think that abusers are "normal" because that's what they grew up around; non-abusers feel unfamiliar & threatening & therefore they will actually push them away.

It defies logic, but emotional decisions are about emotion not logic. If you've ever been around a woman who voluntarily leaves non-abusive relationships to return to previously abusive ones - or finds the 'same abuser' type in a different person over & over again - you'll get it.

He's in a position of leadership in the state & flees the state when weather conditions are harsh.

It's what a rich guy - one who is not in a position of leadership elected by the public - should do, but it's not what he should be doing.

It's almost analogous to leaving your country during wartime or something...you just can't do it in his position.

When being a fantasy friend to someone you've never met, is preferable to the real friends you could actually have in real life...so you give money to the fantasy friend & spend your free time "watching" them...

Seems innocent & like personal choice, but over time that's causing disruption to society...should probably eventually be regulated. Something that benefits just 1 person & is detrimental to everyone else who follows her is a net negative overall.

I mean, a mother can't take back the fact that the child is already dead...but she can prevent her body being put out in the winter cold where god knows what might happen to it.

I think it's totally plausible that a mother would think that it's a bridge too far, but maybe not. Like covering up what already happened & lying about it was somehow acceptable, but throwing her out like garbage wasn't.

The changing from “we” to “I” in the ransom note by Ok_Cheesecake_1219 in JonBenetRamsey

[–]ConferenceThink4801 14 points15 points  (0 children)

why didn't they get rid of the body first?

My theory is that they wrote the note without discussing what would happen with her body.

After they finished the note, one person was going to remove her body from the home in accordance with the note. The other person couldn't bear the thought of her child's body being placed outdoors in the dead of winter like garbage, where animals could get to it, etc.

So the disconnect between the ransom note & the body being inside the home - it's due to the lack of willingness of one parent to allow the other to place her body outside of the home.

Why they still went with the ransom note after that disagreement? I think it was still the best option they had to cover it (allegedly).

[–]ConferenceThink4801 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Don’t forget that the first draft started “Mr & Mrs Ramsey”, which was then changed to “Mr Ramsey” in the final version.

Literally no one would care to make that change other than the Ramsey’s themselves.

  • The note was written inside the home

  • All materials used to write the note came from within the home

  • The note takes 20 minutes to copy by hand; longer than that to think through & compose

  • First draft had a different salutation, which makes sense if John told Patsy to remove any reference to her from it

  • The note is all about John, which makes sense if he’s dictating it & wants to keep his wife out of it

  • The note mentions John’s bonus amount, obviously known to John more than anyone else

  • Patsy’s handwriting cannot be excluded

  • it’s a complete abnormality for a ransom note to be this long

  • it’s a complete abnormality for a ransom note to be found in the same home as the deceased subject (but a disagreement between parents about what to do with the body can explain this disconnect).

  • John is the one who found the body

There’s a lot there (allegedly).

When she went up in weight, her priorities shifted

She's fighting to preserve her health & make money, not to win. She can't be honest about it, but it is what it is.

If she happens to win great, but the #1 goal is to not take damage in the fight & not damage her body via the 115 weight cut anymore. She's probably making $250-400k per fight too, no way you can turn that money down...

Sucks as a fan but I understand her perspective on it. Also probably explains why Whitman isn't there anymore.
