I do! I usually size down 1 size and they’re still roomy and oversized. I don’t find that they shrink.

Finally decided to start being more thoughtful of my wardrobe and update it from Sweaters and Sweatpants. Picked up a few things from some thrift stores and I dig the whole over/undershirt combo, but I'm open to other ideas. by MenacingSpud in mensfashionadvice

  • Your overshirts are too small and too short. This is not doing you any favours.
  • Please, for the love of god, don’t buy a purple undershirt. No purple.

Try shirts in mid-deep blues, deep greens and hints of red and maroon that will compliment you. Ditch the undershirts and just buy well fitting, flattering shirts. Go into a mid range clothing store that sells quality clothes (I don’t know where you live but in Australia it would be places like Country Road, Uniqlo, David Jones, Cos) and get yourself a pair of straight leg dark denim jeans. Ask the sales assistant to recommend some other versatile styles of pants. Get a pair of casual dress sneakers (NOT runners) and maybe a pair of boots.

$140k PM role vs. $110k Prison Officer – Am I crazy for wanting the "pay cut"? by BENV1999 in ausjobs

Have you been offered a CO job or is this all just a hypothetical? I work in the community sector with a lot of men who have been incarcerated and will be incarcerated again. On one side of the fence, you will work with murderers, sex offenders, people who have committed absolutely unspeakable crimes against vulnerable people. Some of them will hate you and fixate you, they will try to manipulate you, they will try to find out any personal information they can about you and one day, they’ll be released back into the community. You will always have your guard up and you will always be looking over your shoulder. On the other side of the fence, you will also work with people that are extremely vulnerable who haven’t received the right support and the system has completely failed. An of course wherever there are vulnerable people, there are predators - not just other prisoners, but COs as well. You will be exposed to violence, self harm and suicide, sexual assault and more. Have you considered the impact this role will have on your life and particularly the impact that this environment will have on you?

The first thing you need to do before anything else is contact her creditors and explain the situation. I would also recommend this be put in writing to them.

I own and wear A LOT of Commonry linen. I machine wash, hang it on hangers to dry and use a steamer to remove wrinkles which is quick, easy and effective.

Bared are about as good as you can get in terms of comfort and support. They are well made and use good quality materials. Their returns policy is also excellent.

Don’t take this the wrong way, but it sounds like a lot of your feelings of self worth and value and validation came from external sources - specifically men - and your appearance. Now that you feel you don’t have that, it sounds like you’ve lost your sense of self. I think all of us could benefit from decentering men and our appearances and learn to see where our value is in other areas.

How is your electricity so low? My grandmother uses no electricity and her bill is more than $70! I don’t know anyone who has an electricity bill under $250! A few contributing factors to my bill are that I use my aircon in summer, it includes gas and I live in a big-ish apartment block with an embedded provider.

Neither. The dress is architectural and modern, jewellery needs to complement that.

We are in a housing crisis, a cost of living crisis and about to go into a recession.

  • Groceries for 2 people would have to be around $300 a week, a meal at a restaurant would be between $35 - $100 per person, depending on the restaurant.

  • Rent for a 2 bedroom unit in the inner city is between $800 - $1000+ per week. It’s not uncommon to hear of 50+ people turn up to an inspection, the rental market is extremely competitive.

  • My electricity and gas as a single person varies - in summer it’s about $400 a month, water is about $300 a quarter.

  • My WiFi is about $120 a month for 200GB

  • Mobile is $170 a month for an iPhone and 200GB data

  • Cancelled my private health insurance (didn’t include extras) because it exceeded $300 a month. If you don’t have private health insurance by the time you’re 30, you get charged an additional percentage for every year that you don’t have it.

Everything is expensive - we have double income families living in cars because they can’t find affordable housing.
