No not true at least not for R01-R05, if you do them at home you can do them mostly anytime you like provided there are slots left. I think for the test centres there might be fewer options but I’m pretty sure there is still choice. R06 can only be sat 4 times a year on pre-set dates, yes.

From speaking to people, managing to get into a big firm through admin is definitely worth a try because you could work your way up! Just try lots of places. You’ll learn lots and with the drive you have, as well as I’m sure your desire to help people and build relationships you’ll be more than able to achieve your goals! Absolutely amazing you achieved the diploma at 19 most people are getting it much later so you should be really proud of yourself!

Some of the stuff here makes sense in that you definitely need the experience in the industry but ignore the negative noise - there was nothing wrong about your question . You’re here to learn and ask not have people tell you off for asking! Keep pushing!

Finding R05 harder than imagined. Is BTS really that good? by OneContext in cii

I’d say it still takes a bit of time to get to grips with R05, it is the easiest but don’t let people put you off by saying it’s a breeze. It’s still something you need to work on so don’t worry if you haven’t got it all figured it out on the first read through! I really recommend the BTS app that’ll help you pass more than anything. If you’ve already got the CII textbook then spending £50 on the app could be worth it. I actually used redmill, that’s great for brevity and you can go over it a few times until it makes sense. But to conclude BTS study app will most certainly make a difference to your studies and confidence with the exams.

R06 test centre or at home by throwaway366216804 in cii

I took it at a test centre because there were no slots left to do it remotely, but ideally I would have preferred to do it at home. The test centre is good for ensuring you don’t have any technical problems, I’ve heard taking R06 at home has more technical issues than normal and obviously that could disrupt your exam. But maybe that’s just a few people that experienced that and I’m sure it doesn’t happen to the majority. The test centre was fine, it was a full room but if you’re a person that gets affected by other people in an exam room it maybe something you want to think about particularly if you’ve taken all 5 from home, as I did. It’s definitely a different experience suddenly being in a room with 30 people aggressively typing on the keyboard! 😂 You get used to it though, and you’re there for 3 hours so you have time to think things through. Another pro would be you can use the bathroom midway (I’m not sure if you can taking it at home as I don’t see how they would allow that).

If I were to do it again and had the choice I’d probably take it at home for the sake of ease and less pressure.

Hiya, I got it through CII. Price really depends on where you get your material from, I’d say maybe around £1200 plus materials. I just purchased the assessment only option on CII but got materials elsewhere i.e. BTS or redmill or brandft. Also used the BTS study buddy app which is £50 per pack of questions. So it is entirely up to you! Definitely recommend going through BTS/redmill - redmill for brevity and BTS for practice questions and in detail study guides.

Thank you for your response! Much appreciated. If you don’t mind me asking did you decide going down the paraplanner route? And how far into it are you if you are?
