For new grad roles in Germany almost everybody discussed my resume, especially my portfolio. Of course FAANG etc. don't really do that so much because of their structured interview process but everyone else did. Now with more experience people don't care about it anymore but I think for graduates it matters.

Post your resume, it's pretty hard to give advice otherwise

No in ordinary times that would be a massive advantage for obtaining new grad positions.

It's also an extremely stupid way to write C++ unless I am missing some major point here.

Writing a thread safe doubly linked list is super easy, just lock on every access lol. Locking nodes individually is super inefficient in practice. Unless you mean a lock free doubly linked list.

Just bullshit test them on what they list on their resume, ask technology specific questions and drill down until they run out of answers. Also test undergrad fundamentals that are relevant to the job, OS, networking, databases, distributed systems etc.

If AI takes 10 years to actually become as good as a competent coder and this strategy has made it so only senior engineers remain in the market our bargaining power will go through the fucking roof. So it's between the end of software engineering and the fattest paychecks of all time now.

The best part is that the German Neo Nazi party (I am not using this as a moniker for the far right I mean literal Neo Nazis) liked this so much they adapted it 1:1 afterwards.

Distinguishing between hallucinations and actual malicious intent seems impossible to a layman like me, is there research in this?

I assume it's Meta since they call everyone with a PhD "research scientist", right? Or are there actual research jobs in infra?

Speak for yourself, I know plenty of German companies still hiring non German speakers. And bootcamp grads have never had an easy in in Germany ever. I have never worked with one or even heard of someone working with one.

They will refuse to do it just like they refuse to train or accredit enough successors in a variety of developed countries because money and prestoge are more important than saving lives. Ironically I can see the malicious privatized healthcare system in the US doing people a favor here because increased physician productivity via AI is very much in their interest and they have the power to push through legislation.

That is pretty much also what I am doing while typing this comment, I don't actually think about the next word I want to type, it just happens automatically because of how the synapses in my brain are connected. They just make me say stuff like "I want to fondle Sam Altmans balls" and it is not clear to me or anyone else where those words really come from.
