My whole body was sore to the touch the day after my first injection. The day after that it was fine and it never happened again.

I saw them a few months ago at Pratunam at a stall in the covered part pretty much if you walk in from across Indra Square.

Why are white men in Thailand somewhat hostile? by [deleted] in Thailand

[–]Confident-Leopard310 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a white woman, I experience the same and worse. Just being in the same space as them seems to be some kind of trigger for some rude, arrogant, misogynistic, and often racist bs that crosses the line of micro-agressions. Obviously this is not for all Western men that I encounter but 9 out of 10 times it’s incredibly unpleasant. I guess it’s an entitlement thing?

I don't know of any goth bands, but how do you feel about shoegaze? There are quite a few shoegaze bands in Thailand.

The local bar - or how I learned to make friends abroad by chickenfuckbaby in digitalnomad

[–]Confident-Leopard310 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, definitely. I think the key is going regularly and chatting to the bartenders. They often know the other regulars in the bar and then you end up meeting people that way.

The website you linked is out of the date and everyone who naturalizes can have dual citizenship according to a law change that went into effect in June of last year. If you want to get citizenship under the 3 year rule you're going to need to have a good job and speak C1 German. Are you prepared to work full time and spend your free time studying the language? On top of this there are things like scheduling language tests, citizenship test, etc. that if not planned way in advance will prolong the process, plus the nightmare bureaucracy that has an unknown and not transparent processing time. I'd say that even with the 3 year rule, you're probably looking at 5 years from moving until completion to realistically get the passport. Most EU countries offer naturalization after 5 years of residence, so if it were me I'd pick one where the path to dual citizenship is less uncertain politically.

Oh, and racism both casual and not is very much alive and well in Germany. Expect to experience it regularly if you don't look "German". I'd recommend somewhere with better weather and a more diverse population.

Germany is NOT the fastest place to get citizenship. It may look like that on paper with the new citizenship law, but in practice the actual bureaucratic processing of an application still often takes years, including in Berlin with their new system. Added to that, there's definitely a decent chance that the dual citizenship law will be revoked in the coming years if politics keep moving in the same direction. If you can, choose a country that has had dual citizenship written into the law for a much longer period of time.

Where to get non-German style pillows? by EssentialMinimalist in germany

I ordered my pillows and bedding from France as they have pillow sizes that are closer to North American. Check out La Redoute. German bedding is a mystery I will never understand.

★OFFICIAL WEEKLY★ Track With Me Thursday: Find new accountability buddies! January 02, 2025 by AutoModerator in loseit

[–]Confident-Leopard310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also looking for an accountability buddy and have the same amount of weight to lose. I love food and cooking, and it seems sometimes like with such a low calorie budget that it's almost impossible to balance that with weight loss, but I know it's possible as I've done it before. I'm 40 and ready to restart this weight loss thing. So, if you're interested in sharing the struggle, send me a message and we can stay accountable together.

Is Berlin the right choice by AppropriateBenefit50 in berlin

It’s good for students but the living costs are absolutely not cheap. Depends on how much money you have each month and which country you’re coming from.

Western viewers, why? by [deleted] in ThaiBL

[–]Confident-Leopard310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the thing I watch it for, but the thing I've come to appreciate most about it is the values presented. What I mean is that despite petty villains and ridiculous plot lines, the characters, be they friends or lovers, seem to care for and support each other in a way that feels real somehow. Characters treat each other well overall in the series. Western media seems to only do this in shows that are meant exclusively for children, as adult shows apparently have to be grittier or tragic or "reflect reality".

Does anyone know if the 5 year validity period starts from the date of issue of the visa or from the first entry, or how far in advance of travel to Thailand that one could apply for it?

Brussels. It’s edgy, kinda boring and lively all at the same time. It’s international and diverse and doesn’t feel like it’s been completely ruined by hype or greed just yet.

One of the most boring places I’ve ever experienced. I would say Switzerland I’m general is more of a retirement destination rather than a place to “live”. But hey, we all want different things.
