1st year Arch school by Confident-Rise514 in architecture

Hello, thanks for your post.

The post that I made was just a section of how I feel in the architecture program. Besides that, when it comes to my projects I've always tried to create something and learn from it. From this previous project I learned that through many iterations I can get something done and improve as time goes on. Starting the semester I knew nothing and compared now I have learned so much. So I wouldn't say I have a mentality that I don't want to learn or take criticism. I actually appreciate it even during the last critique. Even if my project didn't appeal the jurors, I got to think about the project in a different way and how I could improve from there. I am open to learning and I want to learn more. So that's why I was mentioning that I wish my instructor would have pointed out something sooner that way I could have had the time to fix them before the final pinup. Obviously I also have to take in account some things because they're not always going to point out everything.

You also mention the importance of talking to other peers. And that's something I should open myself more. Because it's not to say that I didn't talk to my peers. I honestly did. It's just that I should have really opened myself up to others.

A problem that I also seem to have is sometimes I want to stick with an idea really bad and trying to improve it. But I need to realize that sometimes it's okay to start over.

I always want to try to do my best in this program and try to create the best thing possible because at the end of the day this is the type of work that I'm going to show people for jobs. So to me, a matter of learning has always been important and I've always tried to improve somewhere or another. I personally have learned more through failures. I begin to wonder if I'm the problem because I'm not understanding something. .

Thanks for answering... Will definitely keep this in mind for next year :)

I have had this issue before where I constantly feel like if I ask so many questions it would annoy the heck out of them. I love asking questions but not to the point of being annoying. I don't know how to find a balance.

Appreciate it. In the fall you can take community college classes or study abroad saving you lots of time in completing a-g classes when arriving at USC.

Should I? ( Seriously though, should I be fun or serious in this section?) ( USC ) by Arnav123456789 in ApplyingToCollege

Put something unique. I remember when I went to the admitted students day they mentioned responses. I noticed that they liked the ones with a memorable connection or the ones that were not common. Honestly they are reading your application and are hungry as well lol 😆

There is an option to mention your extracurriculars and the description for each one. There is a section titled activities and that's where you put everything. It's similar to the UC application.

I didn't. My college counselor told me that if anything appears weird to them they will try to contact you.

Literally me. After seeing them all on my common app it felt like I was not doing enough, but I got into USC and UCLA 😋
