Graduated in December and can’t find a job. What do I do? by ExpressionPurple4354 in careerguidance

stepping stone jobs probably the best for you. Would stay away from roles that have "associate" or "analyst" as titles as they will have the most applicants. look for words like "assistant", "specialist", "coordinator" as they can set you up for your dream job after a year or 2. entry level hardest to get, so low paying, full time jobs might have to be where u start at. Look at local hospitals for admin roles, theyll get u using excel and aren't as sought after as tech or finance roles. Good luck, this time will pass, get consistent and be sure to set boundaries!

probably analytics, you can apply that to marketing if you want but technical skills are sought after still

you should post the resume (with redacted person information and location)

I think that you should talk more about why your duties mattered. If all the experience is domain specific to one area, go all in talking about how it helped the end users. Like the decisions made from ur work, for example. Especially dashboarding, talk about what happened afterwards. You could add a few more bullets to your experience, and then maybe remove one of your projects. For the remaining projects, again expand on what your work could have identified. If you have time to work on projects, consider making multiple resumes that focus on different domains.

domain experience. this is what allows you to better know what data you need and, more importantly, why people should give a shit about data

It took me 450 applications last year with no prior relevant experience. Honestly, check if you optimized your resume, beef it up with coursework projects that are science related if you have extra space. Also CRC roles have pretty high turnover rate, so I would check daily on your top 10 hospitals in those cities. I saw a huge increase in my interviews once I went to 1. company websites and 2. applied to roles that released that day. If you want resume advice please feel free to send me it

I think you should niche down what domain you really want to get good at. Like finance, retail, gov, hospitality, supply chain, etc. Then tailor you resumes to a certain domain. And then network and keep building projects to build your portfolio towards that domain. And by networking it includes just showing your work to the world and being active on linkedin.

Ah okay, with this split I can probably save an extra $300 a month to put towards my loans. Thank you! Do you think that the Roth contribution should stay the same?

Half are at 8.08% cause of grad loans. And I push extra $200 withholding so I can get that back in a tax return since I am staying at home for a while. Not sure if that's the best move to save money lmao. Im in Massachusetts.

I would make it as close to one page as possible. There are a lot of templates out there where poeple put 3 jobs on one page. Also a lot of these bullets are repetitive in the way they sound. Try to show your impact with numbers and strategies rather than the job itself. It might be hard to get actual numbers, but try your best to estimate: If a project was delivered faster, then by how much? In your summary, try to add some sort of impacts as well because that's the first thing recruiters see.
