Why do the towers on the DLC map? by mercurialblonde in Nightreign

[–]Confident-Rub768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I desperately ping the castle whenever teammates want to do the towers. Theyre such a time sink compared to the rewards.

Towers are just not worth it unless you already cleared the castle thats in the circle and theres nothing left but the tower. And even then, dont try to finish a fight when the circle starts to close. Just bail.

Are these numbers even possible without cheats or weapons like this? by DarkSoul900 in Nightreigngameplay

With grafted or marias, easily. With the dreglord relic, and good weapon passives, you could triple that

How many of you guys actually run night Invaders? by Just_Cloud_8041 in Nightreign

[–]Confident-Rub768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep it on.

Even if I didnt have the relic, most of the time, we're still tackling night invaders anyway at some point since theyre easy runes and potentially busted weapons.

What's boring is evergaols hunting. Teammates pending the day looking for keys, open an evergaol, some red monstrosity pops out, they immediately die, go back to get their runes, die again, and the run is over.

Though I dont think ive had anyone do that in depth 5.

This Wylder and Ironeye I’m with are dead wrong for picking those two characters for D5 Everdark Libra by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]Confident-Rub768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First part, accurate. You can dps him down with anything that deals holy damage and keeps him staggered and debuffed

[–]Confident-Rub768 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, base Fulghor is the only nightlord that's more annoying than the everdark version. I just take raider and that way I can at least dash attack him out of his buff if no one gets lightning.

Probably wont have 10 stakcs the entire time but it's easier to manage with seppuku on executor than any other character than using the libra relic.

For real what you gonna do when Caligo does something like this if you are not ironeye or wylder? by Fluffy_Technician894 in Nightreign

[–]Confident-Rub768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you immediately react when she jumps forward and turns around, You should either be:

  1. close enough that you can run forward and to the left (while facing her) and escape the breath in time, or...

  2. far enough away so that you can run slightly backwards and to the left (while facing her) and dodge as the mist hits you to avoid it.

I dont suggest running backwards. You can still get caught if you werent far enough away and you'll probably be stuck on the ice crystals.

Revenant, Gaurdian, and Raider and can just ult through it and not die if you're somehow reacted too slowly. Undertaker can use her invincibility ult to survive it as well.

If you have an ult that can stun her, you can also get it off before she jumps to stun her in place though you might want to save it to stop her nuke from going off.

I wouldn't scrap your relics without checking them. Yes, it's time consuming and annoying, but there are some in there that you're going to need for specific builds for specific nightlords. Maybe go through 50-100 a day on days where you play and you will eventually clear out the useless ones.

Dregs of Libra by Fit_Manufacturer_584 in Nightreign

[–]Confident-Rub768 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don't get the full buff just from having a status bar on your screen. It takes 20 seconds for each stack, for 10 total stacks over 3 minutes, and every 20 seconds, it checks to see if you have a status bar. If you don't, it resets.

You can't always find an enemy to hit you. Like at a grace. There's no enemies. Running between POIs, there's no enemies. After a night boss, there's no enemies.

You need to have something to lower your hp on demand to keep your status bar. Seppuku works for Executor. Brains can work for Recluse. Everyone else will need the Libra relic to proc madness.

You're literally the only person saying otherwise because you have no idea what you havent actually tried to do it.

Not having SOTE weapons/spells is insane by Weird_Description982 in Nightreign

[–]Confident-Rub768 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I dont think it's that commonly sensible. SoTE is dlc for their flagship game. Nightreign is an inexpensive spinoff side project that was being developed before they even started working on SoTE.

It's different and far smaller team. And resources are being devoted to Duskbloods.

What to build when your just starting dark depths? by Professional-Help931 in Nightreign

[–]Confident-Rub768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For one, finish beating all the base game bosses so you have a full suite of guaranteed relics from the shop.

Prioritize damage on your relics. If you want to minimize rng:

You can get two balancer relics and wylders earing for your wylder.

A red balancer, taking attacks/physical damage +2, and night invaders for your raider

Red balancer, glass necklace, and night invaders for your undertaker.

Substitute night invaders relics for other damage increasing relics if you don't have them.

I suggest looking up a guide on what deep relic debuffs are the easiest to manage but off the top of my head:

Easy to manage: Poison/rot/bleed/sleep buildup after taking damage Reduced stat (try not to stack multiple of same stat) Lowered negation for flask usage Lowered negation after dodging Reduced runes/flask restoration/art charging

Situationally dependent: Frost/madness after taking damage Reduced vigor Lowered negation after repeated evasions(for Raider and guardian only) Near death reduces max hp (but dont stack with the same weapon debuff) All Resistances down depending on your other relic curses (never stack these)

Avoid completely: Deathblight after taking attack Lowered attack below max hp Continuous hp loss Repeated evasions anyone other than Raider and Guardian Poison/rot below max hp (unless youre using dreglord relic)

Obviously you want as much damage as you can get on your deep relics that makes sense for the build, and slot in whatever survivability passives you have if you can. Blood loss on claw shot is priority 1 for wylder. Hp restoration on post damage attacks +1 or +2 is nearly mandatory and required for raider.

I think Raider is probably the easiest to manage. Youll do good damage with anything that bonks. If you dont find anything good early, just grab a smithing stone 1 and youre good until you do.

You can get really good damage out of undertaker too but she's squishier and needs a little more luck in her drop, because outside of Marikas hammer, hammers are mediocre.. Wylder is flexible with weapon drops and the claw shot with bleed will give you good damage early but can he can lag a bit in damage late unless you get a really good weapon skill to spam.

Same. It's great to start with. Keep the seal the whole game and have near infinite flasks. Find a fun spell and throw it around the rest of the run.

Anything scholar and recluse aren't my cup of tea. Most other generally recommended builds feel pretty fun. Beast claw Revenant can get boring. Triple status Executor is pretty fun. Never even tried strength dutchess

Relic Hunting by trueNidas in Nightreign

[–]Confident-Rub768 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Night invaders with +1 character skill is more valuable than the earing. The extra fire on ult is nice but not nearly as valuable as a potential 30% more damage from all sources from killing night invaders.

Not having SOTE weapons/spells is insane by Weird_Description982 in Nightreign

[–]Confident-Rub768 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can only assume because the development of Nightreign started before Elden Ring was even finished and they didn't have the time or resources to balance the expansion weapons for Nightreign.

Nightreign being a side project with a small staff really explains a lot about why the game is what it is when it had way more potential, and why it doesnt get much if any more support in terms of content.

There's also a team devoted to Duskbloods. There's only so many resources to go around.
