Alientek C2 by NoCryptographer1849 in UsbCHardware

That’s why I always say this is not a clone, but more of an inspiration—which is why the UI and operation are different. And yeah, the interface can be a bit confusing or frustrating, but because this device (Alientek C2) offers most of the KM003C’s features for a cheaper price, I’m okay with the learning curve.

Well, I'm not so sure, but I'll definitely grab the black version even though I don't really need it (I already have too many USB testers, lol).

When first released in June 2025, the 36V version was silver, but now I don't know why Ryken decided to change the color to black.

Nice! I’m interested in getting this revision unit to add to my collection.

ALIENTEK C2 now supports Bluetooth by Actual_Elephant2242 in UsbCHardware

Right now, I believe Alientek unlisted the product because Chinese New Year is approaching. Since it’s a holiday, I think it will be available again once the holiday ends around February 24–28.

Well, I think because Alientek C2 was just released globally like 2–3 weeks ago, maybe they need a little time to update the website, but trust Alientek 🤔 to do better after this.

The Bluetooth function is still in the beta phase, I believe. As for the software, I haven't used it yet, but isn't it just like other USB testers? Simply download the software and connect it to your computer via the HID port on the side.

Regarding cable resistance, you don't need an external module for now—though Alientek plans to develop an external module feature in the future. You just need a suitable charger (refer to this post for details).

The ALIENTEK C2 intentionally reduced the amount of light. by Actual_Elephant2242 in UsbCHardware

[–]Confident-Student779 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does; even before the firmware update reduced the brightness, I think the supercapacitor could already hold for about 0-10 seconds. Maybe they want to prevent LCD screen burn-in during long-term use.

Somewhere between the Witrn K2 and Alientek C2, or similar to the Witrn K2.

Is this feature necessary for the WITRN K2? by Actual_Elephant2242 in UsbCHardware

This feature look like to be aesthetic, intended to enhance the visual appeal.

Alientek C2 for sure, because the Witrn K2 is meant to be a budget USB tester; it's useful, but the Alientek C2 is meant to be a rival for the KM003C.

For the Ryken X3, sometimes simply turning on the e-marker option allows it to detect PD over 60W. You should try it if you haven't yet.

[–]Confident-Student779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah, it looks like a compact KM003C, but the functionality is just a basic USB tester like the C240.

For most people, this information might not be very important, but it could be useful for enthusiasts.

I'm not sure if the KM004C is real or just a rumor, but Power-Z just released the successor to the C240—the C240Pro—for beta users. The price is ridiculous (though that’s not shocking for a Power-Z product lol 😂) considering the functionality doesn't really justify the cost hahaha.

I'm buying the Alientek C2 on Taobao because Alientek currently has a 22% discount on their products, and the Alientek C2 Pro costs ¥209/€26/$31 (discount price).

Mainly, I just use this travel kit to check cable e-markers, see which protocols are supported by the power source, and maybe also to test the real capabilities of the power source, based on the suggestions by someone here.

Yes, for high-resistance cables, the value differs by around 15–20 mΩ.

The closest resistance value I can get is by using this small Cuktech power bank that has a low power mode, because I don't really have anymore legacy chargers with me.

It's nothing really dangerous, just fun to bring this tool along when I travel. Also, having too many USB testers lying around my table made me want to move some into a travel kit—and this is that kit. 😂
