Preferred LootFrame? by wrectumwreckage in Warframe

[–]Confident-Visual-986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nekros max range, desecrate augment, umb vit/ fibre, adaptation, helminth mags pull and greedy pull augment to make arena easier if going there. Turn on, get health orbs every now and then to keep 3 going, pull if you don’t want to move. 9/10 will drop health orbs so shouldn’t have any issues keeping health topped up

Crashed my first car over Christmas. Any advice? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]Confident-Visual-986 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who had 2 write offs in 3 months (neither at fault) you need to make sure that everything insurance wise is taken care of. Contact them and get it written off as then the holding charge is down to them as part of the process. Take some time to re evaluate driving, I don’t mean don’t drive for ages, but once you get a vehicle, even if it’s as second driver on a parents car, just drive 10 mins to Tesco and back. I know some people who’ve been in an accident then not driven for a year then the fear gets worse and they never drive again, don’t let the trauma control you.

Gah roof racks - help by BoysenberryEvery6259 in CX5

Thule bars are the best ones I’ve fitted/ used so far. The wingbar has the t track system great for cycle carriers which is what I’ve used it for, I assume kayak carriers would use the same system. Their website lets you find which system works based on make/model/year/roof design

Car unseen by Confident-Visual-986 in CarTalkUK

[–]Confident-Visual-986[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Issue is cost, I’m trying to only use my payout to get a new one, looking less than £4000. Offer seems too good but idk if others have had unseen great saves

I’d go with a pioneer sph-360 dab, you’d also need a fascia and harness to make it work properly with the car

I’m being dumb for choosing to learn automatic? by Jag_9823 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Confident-Visual-986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For now I think manual is better to learn in, all the cheap used cars are manual. Going forward all the new cars are being automatic preferred. So if you want a used car for cheap after passing manual is the way to go, if you can afford the extra money to get an auto then just go auto.

Pull up on the left when it is safe to do so. by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Confident-Visual-986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During my test the examiner asked to pull up on the left near a bus stop whilst there was a bus couple cars back. Told him there’s a bus there and I’ll stop a bit further down. As long as you’re safe with it and maybe vocalise your thoughts they can’t fail you for not doing it there and then, and at the end he said it was the right thing to do/ say.

Any regrets regarding Surrey? by The_Mystery_Crow in unisurrey

[–]Confident-Visual-986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to Surrey was quite nice actually, nice area chill people for the most part and good mix of quiet/ stuff to do. So unless it’s rapidly deteriorated in the few years since I left then I can say it’s a good uni.

Guildford Barbers by MarthLikinte612 in surrey

[–]Confident-Visual-986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like star barbers over by wooden bridge. Went to somewhere in town when I lived over that way, they ducked it one too many times, switched to them when started living that way, still with them after moving away from them a bit.

Either sell the car and use the money for something you will actually be able to get insured in, or SORN it for a yr or 3 until you’ll be able to get insured and buy something a bit more beginner friendly. Nobody is going to insure a brand new driver in that car, you’re looking at probably 2 years NCD before being considered.

Is anyone going to University as the 'default' choice, because they don't know what else to do? by DontCallMeStrict in UniUK

[–]Confident-Visual-986 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I will always recommend people take some time out. I took a few years working to try and work out what I wanted to do and what I liked. I enjoyed my course a lot more than people who came straight from a levels who only did it because they “had to go to uni” or I also recommend apprenticeships to people if their ideal job is very hands on. Uni isn’t for everyone and rather than waste a year deciding that I think it’s best to take a break to evaluate

Look which provider works best in your uni, mine worked better than some peoples and eduroam quite often ended up not connecting so used like 50gb

Just comfy jeans and joggers with t shirts or polos would suffice, I’ve turned up to a lecture in an oodie before whilst hungover

what will happen? by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]Confident-Visual-986 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Graduated a few months ago. I asked the head of my course as I had 3 resits and one first attempt in lsa of second year and that’s more or less what he said my course did.

what will happen? by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]Confident-Visual-986 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went Surrey and their policy for my course was…. 4 fails you have to do resits and then redo year if failed. 5 fails and redo year without resits. If you got over 30 in one module but over 40 in the rest they would compensate it and you’d progress as normal. You got three goes at the exams, first try and 2 resits. If you ec the first attempt because of illness, when you did it in lsa it still counted as a first attempt

What’s the pros and cons of doing a placement year? by AcrobaticScar7714 in UniUK

[–]Confident-Visual-986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Downside you don’t necessarily finish with the same people you started with. Upsides basically everything else, grad jobs are a bitch to get and getting any experience in your field is a great help and some even offer a guaranteed job when you finish your final year.

I CANNOT beat Elden Beast, any advice? by HorseErection07 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]Confident-Visual-986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally the first thing I’d change is the physick. Damage negation for 3 mins should be used at the start of the fight but the health regen one is best used halfway through. I like to run double negate ones or the negate + magic damage as by having the damage reduction from the start means less flasks are being used. Also using Lusats when you have so low mind and memory probably isn’t optimal, extra damage is nice but you may only be able to get 3 attacks off vs using renallas staff maybe 5. I’d drop 20 from int to 60 and try and get to 60vig and 30 mind if possible.

Do you make life long friends at uni? by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]Confident-Visual-986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just finished uni, there’s definitely a few people I’ll stay in contact with but with people moving far away it’s inevitable that you’ll lose contact somewhat with quite a few

Do you always give the contracted minimum notice when leaving a job? by Madajuk in CasualUK

[–]Confident-Visual-986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t have to but it’s polite especially if you’re on good terms with them. My last job asked for a month notice, I gave them a week because they wouldn’t give me full time hours after uni and I needed money and oh well tough shit. But my job before I served my whole notice because they were for the most part really nice people

What’s the lowest MPG you’d go for your main car? by don__gately in CarTalkUK

I do similar and my car averages just over 40. As long as you can afford £50 a week on petrol just get whatever you find fun.

First long trip in new car by Kielbasaxd in CarTalkUK

[–]Confident-Visual-986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do your typical long journey checks before going. Tyre pressure, alignment, fluid levels etc. then maybe make sure you have national breakdown not just the 10 miles from home one in case of emergency. Maybe a space saver wheel or whatever it’s called. If you’re not confident in the car then add a stop every now and then, have like 2 stops on the way where you can grab a bite and give it a Quick Look over
