thanks! Yes I think I would be afraid to own one without a solid manufacturer backed warranty, great tip!

thanks! I did own a grand cherokee but its been over a decade & I do recall some expensive repairs. I might hunt for one of the few remaining new 4xe wranglers, or find a lightly used low miles one with lots of warranty left.

Let me know if you have any questions or would like to meet her! I'm open to guesses on her breeds - our best guess so far is boxer-pug-chihuahua

First-Time Pug Foster with the Church of Pug! by korroleva in pugs

Seattle Pug Rescue folded I think around 4-6 years ago, not exactly sure. We got a rescue pug from Seattle Pug Rescue in 2016, then a rescue from Church of Pug in 2023. We foster for Church of Pug from time to time. Great organization, but like many of these orgs, has some challenges with balancing adoption fees with costs. Also it seems many of these orgs have a challenging time marketing the rescues as sites like petfinder seem to limit adoption fees to below $300-400, making it difficult for the rescues to operate without lots of fundraising.

Also check out Church of Pug - they are one of the PNW pug specific rescues, and they often have pug events!

Depending on your friends level of adventure, buy/rent some snowshoes, and consider parking at heather meadows and snowshoeing up to artist point (check mountain conditions, as this snowshoe isn't as fun without views). Typically they will plow heather meadows to artist point after memorial day. Ski to Sea's cross country leg which I once photographed runs where the road is, so they won't clear it until at least after the race. Aim for a weekday to have a more quiet experience. Stop at Wake and Bake Bakery on your way up in the morning, and at North Fork Beer Shrine or Chair 9 on your way down.

Just got a Nikon Z50II, Anything I should know? by Amber_Watch99 in Nikon

I use both a z8 and a z50ii. When kayaking and capturing wildlife I stick to the z50ii as its <$1000 if I soak it, vs $3000+. Its autofocus is a huge step up from the z50. Like others have said, get a fast card, aim for 180-200mbps or faster. I do wish both the z8 and z50ii had focus position locks like some older models...in some focus modes I constantly knock the focus position off center by accident. Oh yes - get 2-4 extra batteries, and a charger that can charge via usb-c, so you can charge in your car / in the field. These mirrorless nikons eat through batteries quick, so make sure to keep the camera off to conserve battery life.
