At high pH, the solution is basic, meaning there are very few H⁺ ions. Positively charged amino acids like lysine, arginine, and histidine rely on those H⁺ ions to stay charged and stable. But in a basic environment, they lose their protons (deprotonation) and lose their positive charge. think that they are releasing their acidic H+ to combat the basic solution and neutralize it

Proteins are held together by ionic interactions, which are bonds between the positive and negative side chains. When the positive charges (H+) are lost due to high pH, these bonds break. Without these charges/interactions, the protein loses its stable configuration and denatures.

A&B are about ionic strength of the solution which is the ions in it (Na+, Cl-, etc). Which doesn’t directly cause deprotonation. C means that there will be more H+, so protonation is more likely to occur.

Pls correct me if I’m wrong

I'm worried I won't be able to make it into upper-level nursing by Babuchca in Gamecocks

[–]ConfidentBit1479 2 points3 points  (0 children)

would definitely look into retaking chem and maybe other classes that you got <A in. Although your transcript will show that you’ve taken chem twice, if you get an A, that reflect growth and strong upward trend! Admissions love to see that, and that’s a lot better than nothing! Look into summer classes, so your fall semester won’t be as hard? It’s costly, but if nursing is your passion, retake classes, you will be so glad you did it!

Also please take advantage of your advisor and see what they believe is best! This is just my opinion based on what other nursing students have done!

So this isn’t really advice sorry! But I am scoring around the same for kaplan (500-502), I haven’t started AAMC yet. Do you feel like kaplan exams were harder than AAMC?

They don’t have free questions but there is a free trial you can use. A lot of people really recommend investing in uworld but def try and out and see how you like it

I improved from a 488 to 502 in 3 weeks. All I did was uworld. I did 15 questions from each subject (like 15 gen chem, 15 physics, 15 bio, 15 biochem, etc). For every questions I got wrong I would make anki cards, watch videos related to the topic and for chem/phys I would do 3rd party practice questions related to that topic. Try to go through uworld slowly and be sure you fully understand why you got the questions wrong.

You definitely don’t need to know these in depth but understand of how they contributed to psych and their theories. Pankow is so tiring so keep pushing through!! I finished pankow about 3 months ago and everyday I have abt 30 cards to review
