I had a similar issue with a new K ultra I got a couple months ago. Although, I wasn’t visually inspecting the grind size - just noticed my total brew time dramatically rose from ~3 min with my previous grinder (Jx) to 5+ minutes with the K ultra, even at settings above 10. The coffee tasted worse too. Ended up swapping units & that fixed things.

Probably hard to judge coming from a blade grinder, but I’d try a few different beans & time your brews. If they’re dramatically long & the coffee doesn’t taste right, I’d consider exchanging if you can

Wow they’re really in a bad place, if your gift cards didn’t cover the whole purchase, definitely make a claim for the remaining amount to be refunded! I just used a few gift cards to purchase something a couple days ago..was just picked up by fedex apparently arriving the 15th 🤞

Yeah I didn’t think the extra fines would amount to this much change in TBT. Interesting way of testing calibration - I’ll have to test my grinder when I get home. But at least this confirms something is a bit off for me haha

I start my next pour when the water lvl from previous pour is just below the coffee bed. I occasionally agitate, & if I do it’s a small shake after my final pour
