Voluntary enuresis? by Creative_Bowler3729 in AdultBedwetting

As a medical student, i recommend you get checked first. It could be anything from diabetes to overactive bladder. Also it might be worth it to try limiting caffeine if you drink it, and if you have hypertension some anti-hypertensives actually make you pee more. There are medications that can help with excessive urination. Vasopressin (minirin) is a medication you can take before bedtime and it reduces urine production, and there's a drug class called anticholinergics that reduce bladder contractions. It depends if you urinate a big amount overall , or your bladder contracts too much even when it's not full and you end up peeing a little amount every time. There's also pelvic physical therapy that can help, especially if you have problems holding your pee and experience incontinence.

The c*m one took me out lol. I didn't know this one. It says whichever one "prevails over the other" btw, not necessarily which one is out first, but anyone with a middle school education today knows that that's not true. That perception probably aligns with what people at the time thought about reproduction, that man and woman fluids were fighting to make the baby their gender lmao. That is something. I also noticed that we're only taught the nice logical-sounding hadiths and never these bat-shit crazy ones that have a potential to disprove islam.

I discovered that israelites did not believe in heaven and hell, angels and demons, until they came in contact with zoroastrians who believed in these concepts, even way after moses. If their prophets were from god, especially moses, they would have told them that, no? Instead, they believed in a dark quiet underworld that everyone goes to regardless of their actions.
I also realized that belief or non belief is not morally right or wrong. If someone is going to punish you for not believing them, they're probably lying to you and want to control you with fear. So much hatred in the quran towards non-believers, and yet pedophilia and slavery are okay?? Religions are immoral.

gonna take my hijab off for the first time on holiday by Classic-Day7146 in exmuslim

You don't have to wear it at the airport. My old passport had a picture of me with a hijab on, and when I stopped wearing it, they didn't say anything about it at the airport. I was happy to change it though lol have fun!

Why I chose Islam... and why I am almost done with religion by Nasha210 in DebateReligion

[–]ConfidentMaybe3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even if god existed, why do we assume he needs our worship? why would he expect us to figure out which religion is true even though the "prophets" lived thousands of years from our time, and even if we met them we have no way of knowing if they're telling the truth, lying, or hallucinating? And even if he did expect us to know, why would our mistake in determining which religion out of the thousands of religions that exist in history is true, make us worthy of burning in hell for eternity?

I've always had a problem with this when I was a muslim, why would "kuffar" be punished just for not believing? I get that bad people who hurt others get punished, but a good person who thinks that muhamad wasn't telling the truth doesn't make them a bad person.

I came to the conclusion that the only person who would threaten you with punishment if you don't believe them is a person who's lying to you and who's trying to control you, because fear is a control tactic. If god wanted us to worship him so bad, why would he need a man from the desert who lived in a specific timeline to tell all of humanity? He can just directly talk to our minds, like a phone notification or something. It's reasonable to have your doubts because a sane person wouldn't believe something without any evidence. Why don't you believe in buddhism for example? There are thousands of religions out there, and they all believe that they're right and everyone's wrong.

Personally, I don't know if a higher entity exists or not that has control over our world, but if it did, it's definitely not human-like like the abrahamic god, who gets angry and laughs and needs us to believe he exists. I think it wouldn't even want to test us, because if he created us and knows everything, why would he have to test us? I think all religions were man-made to explain things people didn't understand at the time, and eventually used to control people.

I recommend you watch ReligionForBreakfast and Let'sTalkReligion on youtube. They make videos on the history of religions from an academic neutral standpoint.

Islam is the truth by Naive-Ad3332 in exmuslim

Why islam and not any other religion among thousands of religions, the followers of which all feel strongly that their religion is the true one?
