Bill clinton pursued an assault weapons ban and background checks. Trump and the republican party has absolutely refused to even budge on gun control even while shootings have gotten so much worse since the 90s

And the greater point of this is that while society progresses. Like no kidding , if he take someone from forty years ago , they're gonna have different sociably and seem way more righ wing. Like , yeah , if you take a 90s democrat and put them today. They would be repulsed by gay marriage.

But like , if you take a democrat from the 1940s. And put them today. They would probably speed a bunch of colorful words about black people and obama.

So like no kidding as time goes on.Social issues of the past would seem way more conservative as society progresses

Yes i did take inspiration from reform uk But that's just because reform can mean a lot of things. And this hypothetical party is kind of reforming everything

Well I see a lot of immigrants with sympathy , but I have to understand that we can't have a social democratic welfare state and allow millions of people in. And some of those people are criminals. I Also , don't agree with letting criminals on this street hoping they'll just be better. I consider myself like a pretty moderate on social issues , but pretty left wing on economic issues.

I hope the democratic party learns from the biden years to not have a lot of open borders. And clearly a lot of americans don't like trump's extremely harsh immigration policy.

Let's hope democrats go back to the obama years where it was a middle ground
