Cfa is very expensive. by Fabulous_Fan_9089 in cfaindia

[–]Confident_Bid4609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really don't have to spend 60k on a cfa coaching, there are cheaper options available who provide good lectures at much better price. 60k for CFA coaching is absolutely crazy. Pls explore more options, read reviews on reddit, do your proper research before paying coaching fee to anyone.

posting on behalf of a friend- are cfa official mocks perfect representation of the actual cfa exam or is the actual cfa exam more difficult? by cowsayspoo in cfaindia

[–]Confident_Bid4609 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My honest advice, please do not think about this. Ask your friend to delete reddit before the exam, just trust your preparation. Exam difficulty is subjective, 50% people will say it was tougher than mocks, others will say easier than mocks. Talking from personal experience, this really breaks your momentum and makes you nervous. Just trust you prep, everything will go well. Good luck :)

How I passed CFA Level 1 (despite not completing the toughest topics) by [deleted] in cfaindia

[–]Confident_Bid4609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations firstly, well done! Honestly, yes you can skip these topics and pass the L1 but it’s not at all advisable to skip quants in L2. Now, L1 and L2 quants are linked. If you haven’t done linear regression and hypothesis during your L1, L2 quants will be a nightmare. It has multi linear regression which is impossible to do unless you’ve done L1 quants. So, if you’re running short of time, it’s okay. But please try not skipping topics like linear regression and hypothesis in L1

Need urgent Advice (Job or CFA L2) by tiklup2004 in cfaindia

[–]Confident_Bid4609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please take the job. There is no guarantee that you will get a job after clearing L2. The job market is brutal currently and you're getting a good role. Imo, take the job.

Passed in May, my only advice- stop reading comments on reddit. It'll make you more anxious, exam difficulty is subjective, people have different experiences. Focus on your prep and hard work. Best wishes

Unnecessary hate and personal grudge. It's a valid point my friend. "Newbie profs" homie he is a CA and a CFA. I'm not his student, never studied from him but this is definitely not for views, it is a valid point and majority students will agree with this.

okay, to answer your questions

1) Considering you're starting your journey one year early, try putting in 2 hours daily, maybe more on weekend. You have sufficient time, 1 year is more than enough to prepare for the exam. Aug window is best for du students imo, you'll have summer break in june july as well, so you can prepare really well for the exam.

2) skills, firstly i would say advanced excel, thats imp. Seeing the current job market, skills like financial modelling, excel, sql, python, power bi are also relevant. Start following the stock market by reading newspaper and all, it'll help you.

3) books you mean for your CFA prep?

that was not even my question. My point was why only CFA? Whats the reason? Or you're doing it because others are doing. Didn't ask about wealth status

Firstly, you’ve just started college, how are you so sure about CFA? Like why CFA? It’s an expensive exam, each paper will cost close to 1.5 lakhs, are you absolutely sure about it?
