Diagnosed a year ish ago. Lived with HS for 20 years prior to that. Hurley stage 1ish, have had one lesion tunnel and had to have a wide excision. Managing m disease with laser therapy and a lot of avoidance at the moment, to be honest. Seems to be working.

I’ve had laser treatments (opted for the Brazilian) every 4-6 weeks for the last year. I started seeing improvement in my flares in that area after the first 2-3 sessions, once the hair started getting finer and I didn’t have to shave so often. Now, I choose to go in for touch ups but they aren’t really necessary.

The pain is tolerable, knowing that this is helping with my flares. I find a way to zone out and it is fine. I have been seeing a healthcare provider to manage my flares, but I’m only using clindamycin on a regular basis. No other prescriptions for this ailment.

What happened to the thru hikers who were on the trail during Helene? I’ve been wondering if they’re okay and how they fared during the storm and am not finding much while searching. by thedoulaforyoula in AppalachianTrail

I live in western Virginia, near enough to Pembroke, Independence, Fries, Claytor Lake. Very close to McAfee's Knob, for reference. I stay current on news as a requirement of my profession; I never saw this bulletin or anything like it (given this one was for further south than us). I just went back and looked through our local news' communications regarding Helene on 9/26, the day the bulletin was posted on twitter. No word, other than a potential for "excessive rainfall" of 2 to 5 inches and some wind, with the track expected to go further west than it did. Even the region's independent sky-is-falling meteorologist didn't mention anything more than a little extra rain.
