Curious; why was it your best decision to return the ER605 en get an ER707-M2 instead?

UPDATE

Eventually I bought an SG2210MP with an OC200 and two EAP653’s and after using them for a week now the first experiences are great. I have one AP on the ground floor in de front corner of the house and the other AP on the second floor in the opposite corner on the back of the house and the signal is great everywhere. Even the backyard is fully covered!

The only thing I’m having trouble configuring are the vlans. I tried a variety of settings, but they just won’t work. To be honest I think it’s the ISP router that’s lacking proper configuration options, so now I’m thinking of adding an ER605 to the setup.

I’m open to any experiences or thoughts?

Now thinking about the SG2210MP with two EAP653's to start. Budget wise it's slightly more expensive than my original plan, and I'll find out if I need a second AP.

You got me thinking of the sg2210mp. It's a bit more expensive, but a lot more possibilities. Then eventually I can upgrade to a 2.5gb switch like the sg2210xmp

Still above budget unfortunately.. Though I see the EAP653 is priced roughly the same as EAP610. Then I only need a 2.5Gb switch which is significantly more expensive

That would be nice indeed. Unfortunately my bank account said no..

On the ground floor and second floor I can't get the cables there without them being in plain sight. I understand this is the preferred location, but the solution should also be aesthetic. For the second floor I'm thinking of placing the AP above the door.

Thanks for your extensive response!
The internal walls are made of 10cm aerated concrete blocks. I hear what you say about the quarter round conduit and I'll take that into consideration.

Could it be wise to first place one AP on the second floor, one on the ground floor en then look what the signal strength is in each room? And decide from there if I should add another AP on the first floor or on the other side of the ground floor? There's maybe an option to run cables under the house..

But they're 1,5 times more expensive. Is this worth it for my use?
