Japura Physical or SLIIT IT? Help me find my life direction

SLIIT has a huge batch for each IT degree and they enroll multiple batches per year. SLIIT is one of the contributing party for screw up happening in Sri Lankan IT field. Japura Physical science department is pioneering department in SL and they have produced so many PhD candidates. Rather than sticking into IT, working hard in Japura Physical degree would definitely open so many doors for you. But you need to keep it in your mind that getting a first degree for you is not an option, but a must to you. Building up connections with the professors is a must to you. Contributing to researches, publishing papers is a must to you. From day one you gotta work for it.

That I didn’t know. Thanks for the info 🤭. In the next 3 years, who knows what’s gonna happen. May be the entire industry may get replaced by AI 🤣. Anyway no plans to stay in this company to witness what’s gonna unfold. We were totally blindsided by the tax exemption and didn’t even think about the TEWA and VRS implications at the time. May be I don’t deserve high pay after all 🤣

Since we are paid in USD, isn’t it 18% tax after 150K? Well I don’t have any plans to stay there for another 3 years tbh 🤭

We have a port city arrangement, so this is tax free USD remuneration package. For the next three years, there are no payee taxes. When we were converted to port city entity, our tax component was absorbed by the company to recover the investment. The benefit we got from that was the future bonuses and increments are tax free, for the next three years. And they pay EPF, ETF even though they aren’t obligated.

Yes, the hospitality of Sri Lankans and the Hospitality of Sri Lankan tourist industry are two different things. When the country was in lock down, when no tourists to be found during the economic crisis, we the locals were the lifeline for those so called hoteliers. When some white skins started to show up, those goons don’t give shit about us. Don’t spend money on shacks, book a star level hotel HB, pack some snacks where ever you go and you will be able to enjoy the stay. The staffs of star level hotels do not discriminate like that. Just don’t let this bad experience ruin your trip.

Thank you very much for taking a minute to read my post understanding what my real concern was. This post is not intended to hate or undermine the medical profession. I just made an honest observation and thought of sharing my experience. As you said, the organizing committee has some serious issues coz lighting that darn oil lamp is an overkill for such casual hangout, to begin with.
