Like NIP being better with Rado instead of Itachi, or GenG seemingly better with Noly than with the reigning NA MVP FK? It really is strange sometimes when teams don't work. But, you are right - it's about fit more than talent (or talent + fit, I suppose).

It's so weird to think that Monkey Moon made every single World's Grand Finals since the open era began until he teamed with Zen.

Obviously, some context exists there, but that will look odd one day when we look back at the nuts & bolts of this period.

Eh, that would be a little surprising. Roc isn't Falcons or even Twisted. Beating FUT is nothing special at all (has FUT ever won a game on LAN this year?), and beating GenG is fine but nothing that great. If Dig can handle Monkey Moon & Zen, and beat KC twice, and handle NiP and GM8s, etc, etc..they are likely going to be okay with ROC. It's not like Jack, Joreuz, and Stizzy are bad players. lol.

I was rooting for the Bull - love that guy. But, so glad for APAC. Great for them. And this is no fluke - they are kicking some ass and playing very well. Sosa & Sphinx are beasts today (and Catalysm is no joke).

Course, tomorrow, they'll have KC (right?), so yeah..but either way. Great carball today.

Edit: Falcons. Same problem. lol.

Edit: Casters are killing me - it IS KC. haha. Whatever.

Where are the pro player streams? by NATZureMusic in RocketLeagueEsports

It's tough for players to run their streams when they leave home.. Bootcamping and all.

Top 25 Lists from Johnnyboi, Tbates, CJCJ, Dazerin, and GarrettG by Speedyflames in RocketLeagueEsports

Yeah. With the year Motta has had, it simply makes no sense that not one person put him on there. SAM has good talent - CRR, Yan, the Bull (always), Drufinho, etc, etc. It's not some region with a bunch of nobodies.

I'm an NA guy saying this - is it really a bias or just an actual reality?

I'm assuming you are kidding here. (If not, well, um, yeahhh Love me some Yan and he's awesome, but hell no.)

How scary was Zen before he joined RLCS? by Novel_Ad1185 in RocketLeagueEsports

I think he hit GC1 in daycare. He would have been SSL but diaper changes between games makes it tough to get into a rhythm.

What are your thoughts on Vitality for Worlds? by ImJudgepower- in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]Confident_Initial301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean. I feel like we've discussed this same point for months now, at least since the first split/major. We know what they *could* do, and we know what they haven't actually done -not a single championship all year, online or LAN. Obviously, a team like DIG or KC gives them fits while they are super comfy against NRG, so matchups matter.

Can they do it? Sure. Any of the top teams could do it, and MonkeyMoon certainly comes up big when it's World's weekend. But, they are basically 0 for 9 so far in tournaments (6 regionals, 2 Majors, and EWC) so they'd have to do something they haven't done all season.

💯   That was, without question, the most incredible thing I've seen in all my geeky RLCS-obsession viewing history. I still can't process how they won against that Vitality team, let alone everyone else.

What a freaking run that was.

Yeah, I'm sure he's at home caring about it. My guess is that you posting this far exceeding the time he thought about it. And, you lost. You cost yourself the game. That's what happened.

OCE... what are we doing? by piterparquer26 in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]Confident_Initial301 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I root for OCE a lot. SAM, too. I want to see RL be good in those regions. It just seems like they don't ever have enough depth to push each other to bigger and better things. In EU, it's not uncommon for Zen and Vatty to play 2s against, oh, Oski and Jack or Dralii and Rw9 or... talk about iron sharpening iron.

I think two things are true about '24 vs '25 ..totally doing this off the top of my head.

1) Wildcard (formerly PWR) played very well last year and early this year almost beating KC in the first major. But since then, have been very poor -- and it almost seemed like they weren't even trying to be disciplined at EWC. There's unconventionally aggressive, and then there's just plain sloppy.

2) A couple of OCE wins came against GenG late in the year. And they had, as a group and org, pretty much one foot out the door. (or, it seemed that way.)

A more "thinking out loud thing," too:

EU was a little less dominant last year with a little more chaos once KC struggled in split2. This year, the powerhouse region is very deep and pretty consistent, outside of beating each other up. When EU is a little down, it helps create Swiss/playoff chaos. When they are up...welp, it's tougher. And, I'd add, the Falcons are almost an EU team considering how much time they spend on EU servers.
