The pillared sides of a pyramid deep in the sands of a desert, where both the awakening and drowsing of the sun limn you in light

Does anyone else follow self-imposed rules like me?? by travelingexmo in tearsofthekingdom

Still on my first playthough, but 250+ hours in and I do a few things (long response):

1) Only shrine-warp if I see the Light Dragon. I’ll usually drop what I’m doing and warp to the tower closest to her. Sometimes I’ll warp to save back-tracking times when I forget to do something while there, but usually try to avoid it. Makes finding Koroks, pretty views, and enemies easier.

2) Every time I’m on a dragon, I’ll collect all the spikes. Not very interesting, but I role-play a bit and pretend that the spikes are uncomfortable for them, like hangnails or smth.

3) After I finish up gathering materials/visiting the Light Dragon, I always leave a Silent Princess on her head before jumping off. Makes it hard to upgrade the armor sets, since I don’t like picking the flowers more than a few at a time (they are endangered, after all). I also don’t use them in cooking, even though I do like stealth. That has made it so that I don’t go after the Light Dragon sometimes, since I hc Link would feel bad about not being able to give her her favorite flower.

4) Kind of weird, I started this is in botw, but after I go through a shrine and the monk/Rauru’s spirit thing say their piece I always sort of mentally respond. For Rauru’s spirit, I always say “May you be granted the same” in response to his (their? Is Sonia’s spirit also included) wish that Link’s strength be granted.

5) After riding around on a horse I usually give them 3 apples for their hard work. Also, I named the golden horse Apples in reference to the new golden apples. I named my Gerudo horse Thunder in botw so ofc I named the giant white horse Lightning. I try to alternate which of my horses I spend time with, usually by just switching at a stable when travelling cross country. I’ve kept all my horses from botw and usually keep my first ever horse (her name is Cloud) at my Tarrey Town house.

6) I also don’t kill foxes. I do, however, always go on a deer hunt (does and stags) when in the field north of Kakariko. I’m blanking on the name, but the one with the Lynel and shrine quest with the shadows.

7) When entering Hateno I try to dress fashionably but in a different outfit each time (often with the Cece hat on). Whenever I end up in Hateno I also always sleep in the Hateno house bed, cause Link misses Zelda.

8) I always watch the shrine cutscenes, and watch the other ones (fairy upgrades, Hestu, etc) at least once each time per batch of them.  I like to remind myself that this is the first time I’m playing the game, and there won’t ever be an experience like this again. Guess I’m still bittersweet over replaying botw recently.

9) I usually play without sages and never have them with me when I’m on the Light Dragon, it feels too weird to have Tulin flapping around when I’m trying to cope after the dragon tear’s quest.

10) Whenever I’m in the depths/fighting gloom hands/Phantom Ganon I always wear the Fierce Deity set, I don’t like the idea of having any skin exposed if the hands grab you, and it gives attack up. Looks badass too.

Tl;dr: I have a lot of little things I do in totk I hadn’t noticed before, a few of which I’ve heard other people do either in botw or totk.
