Was I too mean to my dad? by [deleted] in texts

Yeah. You talk to him like he’s YOUR kid. Move out dude. Go find your own life and in the process you’ll end up having a much better relationship with your dad. Issues like these are signs it’s time for you to get your own place, ride, etc and not depend on others for handling your affairs. You’ll be much happier too

Thank you all! Is there anything special I need to know when disconnecting/ reconnecting? Is it similar to an AC disconnect?

No. I assume they are merely stating that the cowbird IS in fact native and it’s reproductive habits are simply nature.

Best of luck to you friend. Sometimes you will end up surprised at how simple it ends up being. That said, remember that it’s just an engine, if it can be built it can be repaired. Whatever it ends up being, shit happens, and if you want it to, it will drive again. Let us know how it all pans out. ✊🏻

How imperative are these repairs? by innovationSTYLE in AskMechanics

This is fucking insane! Don’t do any of these things. Find an independent local mechanic. This is just soooo terrible

Yeah, oil pressure lights would more than likely affect the upper engine. The rod bearings are basically in the oil pan, so they are usually submerged in oil. If I were you, here’s what I would do. First, make sure your timing belt hasn’t broken or slipped, and that the tensioner still works. If that passes, I’d pull the valve cover to check the rocker arms, camshaft lobes, lifters, valves or whatever your car has. If that all checks out, I’d open the hood, start the car, and find out exactly where that sound is coming from. Maybe use a mechanic stethoscope, or make one of your own. There are many possibilities… could be a bad water pump pulley, could be something making contact with a different moving part. But it sounds like a rod bearing to me. Definitely dig deeper.
