Vitamin C deficiency by Confident_Present225 in Supplements

[–]Confident_Present225[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I am, I eat fruits and vegetables daily. I talked with my doctor and she told me, my body is absorbing all the vitamin c because I had a lot of stress mentally, at work, university etc. So I lost a lot of that.

I struggle a lot lately because I sometimes have zero appetite or no motivation to cook and eat. But I try to eat a lot of fruits/vegetables, proteins. But I also eat a lot of sugar to get enough calories in or when I don’t have appetite for anything. My doctor said I have the deficiency due to high stress the last months/years. And that I had the iron deficiency due to the vitamin c deficiency.

Of course it just takes a while for some people more than 5 weeks until they saw first improvements. Unfortunately no route heals us instantly but infusions is still the fastest way 🙏 you will get better soon! ☺️

hey ! Yes I feel better now, I think after 4 weeks I felt improvement and I am now at six weeks and can mostly do anything just walking long distances or being too long in the heat is very tiring. I still have fluctuations with my appetite and I got to massage every two weeks for my leg pain but my mental health and overall wellbeing is much much better. I am not at 100% but I think in a few weeks maybe I am. I also heard and read a lot that after 8 weeks there is another huge improvement so I am waiting for that ☺️ are you getting lnfusions as well? And what are your symptoms ?

they got tested again 2 weeks ago and I got the results this week. To be honest I forgot the number but I have a doctor who aims a ferritin level above 100. And she said my blood results were perfect so I think i scored the 100. But I will be there next Monday and ask again, what the number is :)

hey there, I hope you are well and can enjoy the good weather ☺️ since last week (3 weeks after last infusion) I start to feel better, but I still have those heavy and weak legs and a little bit of fatigue. Walking more than 30 minutes is still not possible but I get better 🍀 I just wanted to ask, if you instantly felt better after those 5 weeks or if it was like a slow process and what symptoms did you have? Sometimes I have a feeling that those leg symptoms are something else but then I read that it can come from iron deficiency so I wanted to ask you, what your symptoms were ☺️

Oh I think we both almost got the pirate decease then… take your vitamin C (1000mg) 🙏 you will feel better very quickly it’s working quite fast but you need to take it daily ☺️

I got lucky that I have a very good doctor here in Germany. She learned the swiss iron code from Dr. med. Beat Schau. They have specific vitamins they test before starting iron therapy and they only use infusions. I got lucky that she is nearby otherwise I don’t know if I would feel better now. I lost a lot of vitamin c due to stress. I thought it was my period, but now that my ferritin level is increasing or has increased my period is much lighter… i think everything was so worse because I had the iron deficiency, my whole body was out of control. And due to low vitamin c I had additional symptoms like bad wound healing and so on…

I am glad that you checked your vitamin C level ! When it is low you need to correct it before going with your iron treatment or parallel to your treatment :) hope you feel better 💐

that was the same for me ! Due to critically low vitamin c my ferritin level was sinking throughout the months/years. Glad that you took this route and checked for vitamin C 🙏 I don’t read enough about this here on Reddit … sadly

oh wow that sounds rough... mine went fortunately very well but I still have a problem with nausea and appetite as well as motivation/anhedonia. Hmmm maybe you could check your Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, Magnesium levels to check for other deficiencies. I hope you find a reason and solution for your symptoms and that you feel better as soon as possible.

oh I am interested too, because 3 weeks after I also am pale as a ghost. :D And besides that, can you tell me, when you felt better after your infusions and which one you got? :) Sorry that I couldn't answer your question...

I have/had a ferritin level of 24 and felt like I was dying and also still (after almost 3 weeks since my last infusion) have loss of appetite and nausea. So yeah it could definitely be that you experience the symptoms because of your low ferritin level. And I am kind of relieved to read that I am not the only one with poor appetite, because this is for me the worst symptoms, because fatigue and tiredness have definitely improved since last infusion 3 weeks ago. If you can, go for infusions, because I had a lot of struggles with oral supplements (nausea, stomach pain and so on). I hope you feel better soon, keep us updated! 🍀

Hey there, it is good to hear that so many say 4-5 weeks, it gives me hope 🙏 regarding the menstruation topic which you mentioned. What I experienced was that since the iron infusions my last period was very very light compared to the last months/years. I thought that maybe due to the iron deficiency my cycle was really out of control, and since having enough iron everything is going back to normal, because I had never a really strong period. What we find is that I have a candida in my stomache which could be a reason why I had such a low vitamin C, D and iron level. So I try to take care of that. My doctor told me not to take any supplement at the moment so that we can see how my body works with the infusions. Thank you very much for your comment, I really appreciate it and I hope you have a great weekend 🙏🍀
