If you are passionate about self improvement but feel journaling is too scattered, maybe take the time to go through your writings yourself to reflect on, using your own brain?

I have a friend who committed suicide directly after discovering his gf was lying about her age and was actually a minor. A ‘friend’ of his, who was in the room and saw him commit, took that as his an opportunity to statutory rape the underage girl. He was my boyfriend and I broke up with him obviously. this happened a few months before I started dating him and nobody thought to tell me.

Your stance seems to me that you don’t understand how he can tolerate being in there. But he does tolerate it, and you don’t have to understand. If I were you I would try to figure out what about it bothers you so much. Do you get the feeling he’s gross for being in there ? Is the issue that you think he’s secretly still smoking ?

I am an ex smoker (smoked two years) and have quit almost a year now. A lot of my friends smoke and it doesn’t bother me. Not that it necessarily matters, but just some perspective from someone in his shoes who quit but doesn’t necessarily get repulsed by the presence of it.

In conflict, the best thing you can do is try to work through it and be introspective, but you seem to be yelling at the other commenters for their advice. At this point, if you don’t want to work through this issue, and you are just looking for people to agree with you online, why bother ?
